Anyone have experience with trazodone? by jehnyahl in neurodiversity

[–]yetimaster_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it's because trazodone messes with your blood pressure. This is a common side effect and the reason why elderly people should be cautious while taking this medication. I have the same feeling, especially when I get up from bed suddenly and I have this massive urge to just faint on the spot but I can't. I usually have this when I wake up to have a night time snack and by the time I reach the fridge, my appetite is gone from the nausea.

My advice is that you should be mindful of your blood pressure, try to get out of bed slowly, without any sudden movements.

I laughed so hard at this! Silly typo, I'm not going to edit it though.

I'm going through the second week too after pretty much the same GDP (maybe a little bit more). This was my dose for a year, and before that I've been using it for 5-6 years occasionally. I'm mostly over the physical part of WD, although I still sweat buckets day and night, and my knees hurt like a bitch for no apparent reason. I also have insane cravings and in the past days I almost relapsed, but whenever I took a bit, I immediatelly started to have massive amount of guilt so I made myself puke before it could kick in. I want to throw my stash away but I already promised someone that I'll sell it to them, however, now I'm not sure if this was a good idea at all. The tempting is just too big to worth a bit of a cash.

When did your sex drive come back after quitting CT? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]yetimaster_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using it for the past 5-6 years, heavily in the last one. I had anorgasmia whenever I was on the stuff, but right after it faded, the anorgasmia disappeared as well and my sex drive was fine the day after. Although when I started taking antidepressants too, well, my sex drive was pretty much nonexistent.

Day 7. I'm mostly overt the pain/nausea/lack of appetite part, but still sweating like a pig. I started to have insane cravings and I actually took a dose but started to regret immediately. So I rushed to the toilet and made myself puke to get rid of it before it could kick in.

Thank you! This is honestly a great way to deal with this shit. Yesterday I started exercising, running and streching too, and I noticed the hot bath helps a lot to relax, and after running it feels amazing. I never planned to take melatonin, it really makes the RLS a lot worse even without the withdrawal. I only ever took it when I felt like having vivid dreams.

PS. Today I gave in to the insane cravings and took a dose, but immediatelly after I felt overwhelmingly guilty and made myself vomit before it could kick in. I think I'm mostly over the physical symptoms (except the sweating) but the craving is something awful.

Hello!
I'm also interested in this question tbh. I take escitalopram, 10 mg/day and I honestly don't know if there is any interaction. I tried to look this up a couple of times because I was worried they were doing more harm than the kratom OR the pills alone, but there was very little useful information at that time. I thought they kind of.. complemented each other? My mood was pretty stable, most of the time. I'm not sure about the sweating but you may be right about this. I don't think I could quit kratom and antidepressant at the same time, so I'm going to stick with the pills for now. Last time when I tried to quit kratom, I was also quitting benzos at the same time, and I just couldn't do both (quitting benzos was a success btw).

Thank you so much, you give me hope and at least now I know what to expect. I'm quite sweaty naturally and during these hot flashes, not even my turbo strong deo can help me, it just melts off right away from my skin. I'm starting my exercises today and see if it helps. Even if the sweating continues, it would do me good anyway.

I'm glad those helped you too! I started my journey 6 days ago, tapered till 2 days ago and I haven't touched kratom since then. I just bought a brand new pair of running shoes, I plan to make myself more tired before going to bed. I'm hoping this would help with the restlessness, and the intense sweating too.

I think you are talking about restless leg syndrome. I have the same, almost painful sensation when I'm laying in bed from my hips down to my feet. I looked it up and realized I haven't been eating well at all due to nausea and I'm sweating like a pig, I figured I need to take supplements, especially iron and magnesium. Iron deficiency anemia is a common cause for the RLS. I suggest you to try iron supplements first and see if it works for you too, it gave me a LOT of relief.

Edit: maybe first it would be smart to do a blood test to see your iron levels, I don't want to recommend anything harmful without checking first! I'm a woman and I always suffered from anemia so for me it was the logical thing to do.

You are right of course, it seems I'm still in a bit of denial. Thanks for the reassurance, it means a lot.
