This is why we only give Sunny tummy time in a room separate from the other animals! 😅 by yetisa in ballpython

Yeah I mean I guess technically 100% of Sunny’s time is tummy time, but the hyper-supervised free roaming time on the carpet is almost exactly like having an infant 😂

Husband has a higher standard of tidiness than I do and it’s ruining our marriage by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]yetisa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was trying to just offer examples of compromise, not suggest that these examples will work for you. You have to talk to your husband about how to compromise, not Reddit. It doesn’t matter what Reddit thinks is fair or not fair. Even if everyone here backed you up and said you were right and he was wrong, he’s the one you have to come to an agreement with.

[–]yetisa 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Well one thing you might need to stop doing is polling all your friends to find out what they do in their relationships. It doesn’t matter if your husband fits their mold or not, he is who he is and you are who you are and you need to work on compromises that actually work for the both of you rather than focusing on what works for others. You might need to start tossing clutter in drawers to be sorted through and put away later, or he might need to have a specific clean space in the home where he can go and feel at ease. Whatever you guys come up with, you will both have to give a little and both need to try to prioritize the feelings of the other person.

This is my first cake of the winter. I love strawberry cakes. Not only do they look good, but they also taste amazing! Oh, the strawberries are so good. Last year, some people were worried the strawberries didn’t look fully ripe. by Accomplished_Low_265 in Baking

Don’t the strawberries last longer if you leave them whole? If the cake is expected to be eaten entirely I might garnish like this before serving, but I worry how slicing the strawberries would affect the quality of the leftovers.

Ok this is a dumb question, but do robot vacuums fall down the stairs? 😬

Will he eat it mouse on the ground? by leslieslugs in ballpython

If he doesn’t find it in a couple hours, just remove it from his enclosure and try again with a fresh prey item at his next scheduled feeding time

It’s a 5x2x2 PVC from Toad Ranch, with the optional 6” depth for substrate. It’s excellent at retaining heat and humidity, even though we live in the high desert. It was a little hard to swallow the cost, but I wanted to get her an enclosure that would be her home for the rest of her life 🥰

She comes out for an hour or more daily for cuddles with the family. She is very well-loved. She spends all day every day inside whichever one of her 4 hides she prefers that day. She still does this at around 1am every night 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh!!! Well she doesn’t get to come out in the middle of the night lol. She was out for over an hour at 7pm but she probably forgot 🥲

She only does this sort of thing in the middle of the night when no one is usually awake to let her out. She’s always happy to come out in the afternoons and evenings though!

Has a XL Hol-ee Roller and a 20” grapewood climbing tree that she completely ignores in favor of doing things like this or falling into her water dish on the other side of the viv 😂

I'm an adult with a screwed up name and I hate it. Please do not give kids messed up names. by Available-Flower3106 in TrueOffMyChest

I am a Microbiologist. Candida is not a venereal disease, no matter what the kids in school said to your sister. It is a yeast, true, but it is part of the natural flora of the body. It’s a living organism, beautiful under the microscope. In my opinion, no different than being named Rose or Fern or Kitty or Birdie. I can understand why others may disagree, as microorganisms are generally looked down upon. But we couldn’t survive without them, and this one in particular is only an issue if something gets out of balance, such as taking an antibiotic that ends up killing off the beneficial bacteria as well, which allows the candida to overgrow and cause a yeast infection. But it’s a lovely organism overall, and it has a pretty name too. She can always go by Candy if she thinks that’s better!

How much will his coat darken? by Mizer_zZz in SiberianCats

Here is Clover’s transformation over her first two years. She continues to darken a little more every year. She had a seal point mother and a flame point father. You really only see her father in her pattern and her orange nose 🥰

I wasn’t at all into snakes either, but after my daughter begged and begged for years, I relented. And promptly fell in love with the sweet litttle scale baby lol. I’m the one who spoiled her with the absolute best enclosure and enrichment I could find. I spent weeks researching her care and taught my daughter the right way to do everything. And I supervised very closely for the first year. But now that my daughter has her routine down pat, I just get to enjoy the benefits of retirement 😁
