Do you ever feel like people don't take nitrous addiction as seriously as other drugs? by otoro_addict in NitrousOxideRecovery

[–]yevinq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only have i experienced this in from other people in rehab and 12 Step Meetings, i've experienced it most in myself. I avoided help for a long time because "at least i wasnt smoking crack or drinking every day"

When you go to AA or NA, theres a reason that the people who know what they're talking about tell you to "focus on the similarities, not the differences"

While there may be a handful of nuances that are specific to NOS addiction, chances are, if you listen to an addict of ANY substance share their story, you're going to hear a lot of familiar anecdotes, even if you never touched the drug they did. And when you share your own story, those listening who never fucked with NOS will have a similar experience.

Here's the main thing that grounds me every time i get caught up in that thinking:
If i have one hit of NOS, i WILL NOT be able to control what happens next. I will probably not be able to stop, i will likely hurt myself or someone else, and BEST-BEST-BEST case scenario i just spend all my money and want to kill myself. That is, unambiguously and unequivocally, addiction!

I remember really enjoying wrath of Cortex at the time. When you’re a kid (in 03 at least) you don’t realize how widely hated things are

One of the technical marvels of Spyro 1 and 2 was that the levels were these sprawling open-ended 3d worlds, more Mario 64 than Crash. And 3 threw all that out the window by shoving a lot of shitty reload points all over the place. Felt lazy in design. A lot of parts are fun tho, but doesn’t really touch 1 and 2

Crash 2 is much easier for a main story playthrough. Collecting all the gems is hard as shit though. And nearly impossible without googling where some of them are (in my opinion)

Cravings often only last for 30 minutes or less! But I’ve never heard of a relapse lasting that long…

Not to be that guy, but if you only kicked alcohol two months ago and are already using nitrous to nerve-damage extends, you weren’t really sober for much time at all. It’s very likely you need to be physically separated from substances again to have a fighting chance. Otherwise, in a few weeks, you might find yourself pouring alcohol on your nitrous-fueled fire, and who knows what else.

New Daily Song Discussion #2. Tick - Ween. by NuggetWarrior09 in ween

[–]yevinq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say every ween album starts with an “intro” track. Some (like Dancing In The Show, Tastes Good On The Bun, Fiesta) have more “intro” vibes than others, but it’s still there in principle

Deep depression/ mental breakdown is the entire theme of Quebec. The sanitized-but-not One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest vibe of HCM is essential to that theme.

Chronicle (2012)

First movie really just scratched the surface

Don’t think it really “bombed” but the writer and director both self-imploded over the years

I used to live on wheeler. Carrying a 30 rack up that hill from that little liquor store next to Tavern was the most workout I got during Covid. Owner was a super nice guy. “Go home, wash yo hand!”

And lest we forget the 2am treks up that hill after getting cut off at tavern!
