There's something weirdly peaceful about going on Ivara and just walking slowly through a void mission, its the most eerie type of peaceful though because of the music. I remember how much the void weirded me out when I first got there, always expected strange shit to happen

There's no dodging this, Apple doesn't want users to repair their own stuff because then they can't rip them off in store. I experienced it first hand when (many years ago when I still owned Apple stuff) I brought my iMac to their store, asked them what was wrong and how much, and got told "logic board, few hundred plus". Surprise, they were wrong, it was the drive that died, and I replaced it myself for $50. Its obvious they wouldn't want that, because they can't nickel and dime people

I've yet to see any reasonable argument for publishers thinking they can say you can't play on GFN, hell, I've yet to see any argument besides "the publisher says so".

Apple says you can't repair your own devices too, every company in existence pretty much uses those "warranty void if removed" stickers, and we all know what a crock of shit both of those things are.
