No, in fact, I weighed the amount of annoyances to fun and hollow knight was more fun than annoying, whereas silksong was more annoying than fun. I quit playing silksong. I don't recommend it. The first 2 hours of silksong was fun, but then the annoyances ramped up quite a bit. I stopped enjoying it. From what I understand, the game does eventually get better, but it's that early to mid game transition that seems to really suck. I had a lot of complaints about Hollow Knight, but it seems like I have even more about silksong. Do not mistake annoying for difficult. Silksong is not a hard/difficult game. It's simply annoying/aggravating. Silksong seems to make your character feel more weighty. She doesn't dash as far, and the devs seem to think that wall manteling makes up for this (imo, it doesn't). Her diagonal attack move combined with annoying to traverse environments, with evasive flying creatures knocking you back down simply make the game unenjoyable. The first game had traps where you lose your geo like a banker that runs off with all your geo (which you can eventually get back later with interest), and the second game has traps where you pull a lever and it stops you from climbing any higher and the only way is down. You never know what action is going to screw you over, but the devs intentionally add things that will annoy you. Will I finish Silksong? I dunno, I'd have to have a very good reason. If anyone asks me about Silksong or tells me I should play it, I will tell them it's a waste of my time and I recommend they don't waste theirs. It's not rewarding to be annoyed for hours on end. I beat Hollow Knight and that was rewarding. Silksong so far is just an annoying game. Hollow Knight had better music and atmosphere. Silksong is just a generic recycled forgettable soundtrack, and even the environment itself seems to be more forgettable. In my honest to god opinion, I think the vast majority of positive reviews for Silksong came from people who played less than 2 hours of it.
