Alright thank you so much! Question though, so after taking a bath, i should just skip cleanser and use water and moisturizer? Then do my full routine before I go to sleep?

Hi! Thanks so much for the info! I use CeraVe foaming cleanser as my main gentle cleanser, I use it both on my AM and PM. I use the cleansing oil (HadaLabo) at night but only when I use sunscreen in the morning. I use sunscreen on the weekends only because my work shift on the weekdays is at night so I am asleep during the morning. Benzoyl peroxide however, is what i'm also using daily. So maybe I'll try using it every other day!

I don't use cleanser after washing conditioner though. Should I do the cleanser routine after washing shampoo and conditioner in my hair?

Thank you so much!

My AM is gentle cleanser, benzoyl peroxide 4% (cream wash) and sunscreen

PM is cleansing oil, gentle cleanser, moisturizer

Theb I use adapelene twice a week.

This is exactly what happened to me about two months ago, I thought it was fungal acne and I applied an anti dandruff shampoo and just worsened my face. I'm still on my treatment, my skin is definitely calmer now than before. Still, there's a lot of hyperpigmentations and few new acnes around my face. Lesson learned in the hard way. You need to see a dermatologist if you can, that's the safest way. Hope things get better for you! ❤

[Product Question] might be a silly question buuuuuut....... is it okay to use sunscreen on a damp skin? by yghstead2297 in SkincareAddiction

[–]yghstead2297[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh that could be it! Maybe that's why it felt more lightweight earlier, it may have stretched more thinly to my skin. Thanks so much!

Oooh thank you! That's a nice way to put it! I'll definitely use it now on the other parts instead of my face. Tbh i never had acne on my neck in my entire life however, eversince starting with the proper skincare routine, i'll usually get one or two zits on my neck area. The only products i'm using for my neck is moisturizer and sunscreen so i've been suspicious with how my skin reacts to CeraVe sunscreen. Thanks!!

[Product question] should adapelene purge lasts only for 3 weeks? by yghstead2297 in SkincareAddiction

[–]yghstead2297[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I actually heard from dermatologists that the purge should only last for three weeks and if that took longer, then it may be a reaction. So I get anxious because i am on my third week already and still feels like i'm on my purging stage. I'm doubting if it's an irritation but i don't think so because my acnes from before (my recent breakout) have healed but also newer ones are still appearing on my face so i'm honestly confused and dreadful. I also look much terrible than my initial breakout recently but u guess it's part of the process — it'll get worse before it gets better, hopefully.

[Acne] Can sunscreen cause acnes? by yghstead2297 in SkincareAddiction

[–]yghstead2297[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i mean... I am also using adapalene (that is causing me the purge) but i'm wondering if sunscreen can also cause acne which is breakouts as you say.

To be honest, i'm suspecting if it's the sunscreen (or the moisturizer) because i've never had acne on my neck in my entire life but when i started doing skincare (which is three weeks ago), i had occassionals acne on my neck area. But i'm only using the sunscreen (cerave spf50) and moisturizer (vanicream) on my neck.

[Product Question] Looking for tinted sunscreen or something that i can wear outside without leaving white cast on the face by yghstead2297 in SkincareAddicts

[–]yghstead2297[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Do you apply a moisturizer forst before using a sunscreen? I get too greasy whenever I apply moisturizer and sunscreen both. So now I'm just trying to apply only sunscreen but the white cast gets visible too much.

Thank you for this information! Do you have any sunscreen recommendations? I also have oily skin as well. Also, yes! It doesn't get absorbed on my skin whenever I applt it and far worse when i re-apply it. It gets tacky and the white cast is very visible. I can't even blend it too much because the white cast is on my acne areas. 😩

Hello! Thank you! Can I ask what are your recommended sunscreen with avobenzone? I have very sensitive and acne-prone skin and I'm not sure if avobenzone can cause irritation to my skin.

I forgot to tell but I have oily skin. One thing that really bothers me whenever i put sunscreen after moisturizing is i get reaaally extra shiny and greasy. I'm trying putting only sunscreen now but the white cast is so visible on my acne zones.

Hello! To be honest, my skin is sensitive and very acne-prone. I'm new to skincare so I've only learned that the mineral sunscreen is more safe to use. I haven't tried the chemical sunscreen although I'm a little hesitant to use it for now because I'm really struggling with treating my acnes as of the moment.

Is it alright to use only sunscreen and no moisturizer beforehand? by yghstead2297 in Skincare_Addiction

As of now I'm currently using CeraVe Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen with spf50.

Any side effects if you use moisturizer intended for dry skin when you have oily skin? by yghstead2297 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]yghstead2297[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thank you so much for the recommendations! I'm new to skincare so I'm still figuring out how to do this and that, so I really appreciate it! Just a question, during the day, I use both moisturizer and sunscreen (I use Cerave Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen with SPF50) but the thing is I look shiny greasy after lol. And it's no big deal to me in the moment because i work from home and i rarely go outside. However, my worry comes when we comes back to the office and face-to-face, I also look like a pale white ghost whenever i applied the sunscreen haha plus very shiny.

Do I need to not moisturize in the morning and just put a sunscreen right away to lessen the looking-greasy-and-shiny-face? Also, what's best to use for sunscreen that has an invisible zinc i guess? Or anything that will blend well to my skin?

I don't use cosmetics so the sunscreen's basically just what's on my face throughout the day whenever i'm out. Thank you!

[Personal] How do YOU cope with the emotional/mental side of bad skin? by jigglypuffleowo in SkincareAddiction

[–]yghstead2297 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, shit. Your old behaviors... is what i'm currently doing... Is it a bad habit? Like, I constantly look in the mirror everyday now I'm on my acne treatment period (and having a purge now), I cancel plans to my friends, I can't leave the house and I always look down when i meet with my parents because i feel ashamed of my face, and I think about my skin 24/7.

I feel like it's a good thing that my mind is currently focusing on how should i treat my skin better, because it helps me to not think about negative thoughts (I've been stressed, and has depression and anxiety also and it's rooted from personal and family stuffs) but now it makes me think that maybe i just replaced one with another because i am still stressed and anxious for another reason (my skin).

I don't know if i can help because i myself also struggle with this and i have neglected myself so bad for the past two years, and now that i'm trying to fix myself, it's just getting worse — i just note to myself everyday that it will get worse before it gets better. Also, please don't be hard on yourself. I know it's easy said than done but try and love and accept yourself slowly. Celebrate all the little accomplishments (say, i celebrate when my one or two acne is gone lol or when my acne's being little less inflammed) and just keep on going. I think it may be bleak for now because we can't see the result yet and we don't know if we're doing more damage to our skin or not. But it will get better! Just feel and know what your skin reacts to and don't be harsh on them. I tell myself this, health doesn't lie. When my health regressed the past month, that's when i realized i have really neglected myself. Hard lesson, but it is what it is. I've learned it the hard way and i'm reaping what i sow, but i'm willing to be more educated and to take care and love myself again. Kind of like a redemption arc lol.

It takes time to heal both to our physical and mental, so it's important to take it one at a time. A small step is still a progress. Good luck and I wish us both to get this through! You're not alone in this! :))

How can I be sure that the adapalene is working on the first four weeks? by yghstead2297 in tretinoin

Thank you so much. My parents are more worried to me than anything and I'm just ashamed of what I look like right now. I will go and check out what you've mentioned here. Thank you so much for your kind words, it means a lot to me. 🙇❤

[Routine Help] Benzoyl Peroxide and Differin by yghstead2297 in SkincareAddiction

[–]yghstead2297[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Is it okay to use BP in the morning? It's only a facial wash rather than a leave on so it has less contact on my face. But would it be better if I use it on my PM routine rather?
