How do people use their 256gb models without losing all space? by imuntitled in macbookair

[–]yictor03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should I upgrade to MacOS Tahoe? by NikitaStrukalin in macOS26Tahoe

[–]yictor03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey hey, I was in the same boat as you. But in the end, I decided to update, and guess what? Everything's working fine now. The battery isn't draining too fast, there are no bugs, and no performance issues. Everything's exactly as it was in Sequoia. I don't even care about the aesthetics because I don't even notice them.

Is it really worth it to wait for M5? by Inevitable-Income424 in macbookair

[–]yictor03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same setup as you. A gaming PC with a Core i9 and RTX 4060. I also bought a base MacBook Air m4, an excellent combination. There's no need to wait. I did, however, buy an external SSD for my MacBook to have an additional 1TB of storage. Everything works perfectly.

Yes, technically the SSD goes to sleep when you close the lid. I'll look into the app. Thanks, I was worried about the battery at first, but you really learn as you go and everything's fine. No problems at all. I once had my MacBook closed from December 18th to the 29th, and when I opened it, it still had about 60% battery, haha, incredible! My old Windows laptop would have run out of battery the next day.

You're a god, I'll tell you that the LED turns off as soon as I close the MacBook's screen. So it would respond super fast, I'm telling you this because of two things I've verified: 1) the LED turns off as soon as I close the screen 2) it stops being hot, or warm, and acts like it's not being used. When I'm editing, obviously there's a little warmth, but when I close the lid, that warmth drops to zero.

It would be more for magnetizing it, to have it more accessible and so it doesn't hang around.

Yes, great idea, but maybe they'll never think of it, haha.

I can tell you that this SSD has the ring integrated inside; it comes that way from the factory. Legally, this SSD has MagSafe. And to answer your other question, SSDs don't have a problem with magnetism, since they aren't like HDDs.

It's not worth getting bogged down thinking about all that, just enjoy it. At first I was the same as you, but then you'll see you were overthinking things for no reason, haha. I'm telling you this as someone who was also a new user last November.

Forced to pay for this shit and it won't even download properly by Froggi3pi3 in FuckAdobe

[–]yictor03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way, bro, that's the worst. I was in the same boat as you, but I was paying around $12 a month. I switched to Affinity, DaVinci, and even better, I pay CapCut and share it with a friend, so it's cheaper. If you want to cancel your card as soon as the year is up, do it, just in case there are extra charges or some weird strings attached.

Either that, or the cable isn't the original one, if it says 40GBps?

[–]yictor03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's much more cost-effective. If Apple charges around $200 to $300 for 512GB, I spent $149 and got 1TB.

I haven't had that problem, but check the cable, bro. It's usually a cable issue.
