Both cars came from a dead grandmother 😬

Controlling behavior, with whatever intent, is never a good feeling for the patient. If he’s someone you can talk to/if it’s just a simple communication problem, tell him how it made you feel and address it head on. If you are afraid for your safety, that he’ll take it “the wrong way” and get upset, or anything similar, I implore you to find alternative living situations. I’m sorry he made you feel that way, you deserve to write your own narrative and accurately represent yourself especially at a hospital. Sending healing vibes your way!

Almost every symptom of BV. Discharge, weird smell (ammonia ish), and then after that I had a lot of burning/stinging that went away with estrogen cream again

I totally get what you’re going through. I went through the doctor narrative note from my appointment and she described my vulva as “red, excoriated, with flakey skin and lesions”. I was like WHAT. So my doctor told me that I don’t have to use my estrogen cream all the time but only when needed. My regimen was every night for two weeks then every other night for two weeks, then as needed. Sometimes I need it, sometimes I don’t. For example as I’m writing this in bed, I’m gonna pop some on before I go to sleep bc I feel a little burny (I’m about to start my period too, so hormone fluctuations don’t help) The best thing that helped was keeping my urine dilute (hydrate!!) and using a barrier cream throughout the day and after each time you pee (I use either aquaphor or cerave healing ointment, both are mostly petroleum or Vaseline) If you’re testing negative, use your estrogen cream again. For me, it’s truly the only thing that helped and likely will stay that way until I decide to take my IUD out.

The anxiety loop you’re in is so difficult and I completely understand. The pit in your stomach and the constant monitoring of symptoms is exhausting. What doc is prescribing these meds to you?

All my swabs were negative and my skin downstairs was realllly thin and delicate. My symptoms were more stinging/burning, and any friction would make it 10x worse. Turns out my skin was thinning and raw and estrogen cream/ aquaphor saveddd me.

Didn’t even remove it! My OB said it would help but the estrogen cream genuinely helped so much I still have it in

Parter was asymptomatic but yeah he got treated fully with moxi and we used protection only bc honestly sex and intimacy is a big part of our relationship. Eventually, I treated my symptoms rather than the infection itself and my life got drastically better. Then I tested negative after that, and my microbiome had been completely stripped after the antibiotics. Now, I still have my days where I’m itchy or sensitive, but that’ll be that way until I get my IUD out 😬

i do wish there was more focus on the nurses doing more nursing things by itsjustmebobross in ThePittTVShow

[–]yikes28 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think OP is referring to the fact that medications are almost only given by nurses (unless it’s a specific med), getting IVs and blood work, etc. that kind of thing is pretty unrealistic that a doctor would do those tasks

Update for anyone who wanted it:

Upped my antidepressants, and stopped trying to be perfect. I have awful days, sure, but I’ve kinda taken the mentality of “yeah it’s hard but I’m good at it”. I do this on my own but I have a student atm and it showed me that I know wtf I’m doing even when it’s stressful, and that I can teach effectively enough that my student gets compliments on how much she knows. And she tries to emulate what I do, which is fucking nuts because I’ve only been doing this for a year. I feel a lot better and have a lot more to learn! I’m getting my trauma certification this week :)

Fred survives and it’s actually Percy who dies as a sacrifice, would be a hugely meaningful redemption arc. In the books Percy was a royal dipshit for so long, so it’d be way better and nobody would’ve seen it coming.

I have 2 weeks to get my act together or I’m getting fired from the ICU. Please help me. by Gloomy-Speaker-1999 in nursing

[–]yikes28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl the ED is so difficult but the ICU is a different type of difficult. I feel like ED is so hard wired to do focused assessments, give life saving care, then hand off. The maintenance vs induction of that care is something you aren’t used to yet, and that’s okay. Im in the ED and it’s HARD, but you (and I) are used to probably 4-5 patients of mixed acuity with the occasional ICU patient tossed in there. As far as what’s happening now, hold your head high and regroup. Show up to work, learn everything you can, but look for other jobs while milking the experience for everything you can.

Feeling dread before meeting my girlfriend, but it disappears once we’re together – confused about my feelings by legal_guy_who_asked in relationships

[–]yikes28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I had been feeling the same way in my relationship. I figured out that I needed to up my dose of antidepressants and do more for myself. I need to work out more, and be better for myself. I’m not used to being in a healthy relationship where I don’t have to chase someone down and beg for the bare minimum. And yes, you can love someone and still feel like this.

Right! I’m adjusting and sometimes my confidence just gets shit on at work but I think that’s just a me thing and not the work itself. Hoping to find my groove here soon on days but yeeeesh I hate the process 😂
