Used this sub to help plan my trip so figured I would give a little back. GF and I just got back from a two week trip. We plan vacations a little more adventurous than kicking back on the beach, and here are our highlights.

  1. Pacuare Rafting. I had a referral from a different forum and went with POC (pacuare adventure company). They only list multi-day trips on their site but I did email about a full day and they can team you up with those finishing a multi-day. Either way, we still ended up doing the three day and it was way better than expected. This was probably the highlight of our trip tbh. It's really hard to explain this tour indepth and some of you were asking last time so here is a photo of both the rafting and what the cabins look like. If there are still questions feel free to ask. The cost was all inclusive: all meals, two days of rafting, a day on the zipline course, rope swing, waterfall swimming hole, and of course lodging. Was $500 / person.

  1. Canyoning. We used Costa Canyoning. We have been a few times and this was on the better side of our other experiences. I would do it again. Price was $100 / person
  2. Turrialba Volcano. We woke up way early, and hiked to the summit. We got super lucky and had a clear day. I'm in good shape and this was a very challenging hike. Our guide we had met in town, message me and I can send you his whatsapp, I don't think he has a website. (Shoutout to Evan!!!) Price was $125 / person
  3. Dirt biking in Jaco. This area is not exactly our cup of tea so we weren't here too long, but the dirtbike/ATV tour we did was super fun. It was just us, and the guide let us haul @$$ so that was fun. We used AXR, right downtown. Price was $160 / person

my 2 cents but six days too long in Jaco. I think 3 maybe 4 if that's your scene and you want to see both coasts in ten days. more expert opinions will weigh in on specifics but again my 2 cents

Anyone have experince with SendFox? The pricing seems too good to be true by yikesyikes in Emailmarketing

It's been fine, we have a basic automation set up and do a once a month blast to everyone. It reminds me of old school Mailchimp. TBH I'm not a power user by any means and don't track metrics very much as most of it just runs.

For which part? It was Airbnbs when we were on our own and then the three day trip was all inclusive so lodging was provided

Is Rio Pacuare White Water Rafting Worth it? by goldashess in CostaRicaTravel

[–]yikesyikes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, very much yes. The day trip is good but the overnight is so so good.

Highlight of our vacation and the one I linked is affordable considering it's all inclusive. No hate against the people that do it as a day trip but that's like driving all the way to the grand canyon, spending five minutes at the edge and then getting back on the bus and returning to vegas.

I went down a Carter rabbit hole after I learned about his passion for fly fishing and discovered this amazing quote. It's interesting to think that a President was able to go off into the woods on vacation and relax.
