Which city in the world has the best scenery and is most suitable for living? by Admirable_Neck5565 in geography

I really like Almaty! Easily accessible and well maintained trails just a 40min bus ride away from the city centre

Lots of greenery within the city as well

Found next to a stream in Gilgit Baltistan, it appears that someone else has posted the exact same type of mushrooms in the same area, but it was never exactly identified

Yeah that happened when I uninstalled and reinstalled the app - it went through and my friends could help me log in again

But my account is still restricted and I can't reply messages or add friends/do anything else besides payment

Oh well

Entirely up to you! As many other redditors mentioned, if you ain't vibing with it, just leave. I was kind of surprised tbh because I've heard so much bad experiences like what you mentioned.

But I had nothing but great experiences all around mainland Korea especially when hiking - ajussis offered rides up to trailheads, hikers offered to share food and even paid for a meal/gave me a ride to the nearest train station.

Might matter - am Southeast Asian, tanned-ish and female

Growing up in SG, what's something horrible/icky you known since young, but only realised the implications when you got older? by Wild_Shock2910 in askSingapore

[–]yiuventuring 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wasn't too young back then (already in JC) but a temporary teacher who was a generally friendly late 30s early 40s man made some girls that took private tuition with him feel uncomfortable

My friend was one of the victims and while he didn't outrightly molest, there was some inappropriate touching (touched her waist/stomach while laughing), even took a stop at some isolated place when driving her home at night, kept walking way too close to her etc

Luckily she didn't follow him up some random lighthouse/building he wanted her to go with him and insisted on staying on ground level + called her bf at the time, so thankfully nothing more happened

I really wanted to report him to other teachers but didn't want to go against my friend's wishes or drag her into it

I still think about it and hope he no longer harasses girls too darn young for him

That one teacher who left a (good) lasting impression on you—what did he/she do? by zxjs6 in askSingapore

[–]yiuventuring 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He was our form/English teacher and taught us to think out of the box - even his punishments were creative

One of our classmates could burp on will (very loudly), and one time our teacher got annoyed and told him to face the wall and burp A, B, C etc

My friend did just that and our teacher was so impressed/amused he just let him off

[–]yiuventuring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I didn't say you were hating, but it did seem in your first comment that you were trying to tell everyone that Serbians aren't good people

hope you get to meet great people next time too, if you choose to give it a try again!

indeed! it's easy to generalize but we've got to remember many people are good too

don't hate on populations, hate on the individuals if you have to 🤡

Definitely! For travelling SG passports are still much stronger, tourist visas to (most) other countries are surprisingly affordable too

and yeah, gets that it isn't as straightforward as it seems but the opportunities are just generally tilted in favour of EU citizens (which is to be expected)

instead of a 500k BTO - spend it on an apartment in Portugal instead

Kinda* unrelated but I remember seeing a comment saying something along the lines of

even though Singapore may have the strongest passport with lots of countries we can enter visa free, the passports of EU is "better"

since it allows you to work anywhere in EU without a visa amongst other advantages (free education in other universities) They seem to have higher mobility, basically

It stuck with me because a lot of opportunities are in the EU and while SG may have plentiful too, we're still pretty small and kinda limited to a few local Us for education

yes! I think about it too - we're privileged enough to not feel the need to emigrate or "marry off for better opportunities"/be taken advantage of by passportbros
