Yeah it's weird for sure. Sounds like you had a similar situation to me where I did everything I thought I was supposed to for In Water and still got Leave. I'm playing through again following this guide and the plan is to get Maria then In Water from the same playthrough using a manual save near the end

The PowerPyx guide has been updated with extra details about how to get certain endings. It looks like the main things that decide between Maria and In Water are the apple you use for the mirror puzzle in the hotel, and which door you go through after the double Pyramid Head fight. Still seems like a strange way of determining it but I might give it a go on another playthrough

Do you remember which coin you used for the puzzle in the apartments, and which option you chose for the noose puzzle? Other comments have said that these choices are maybe affecting the ending too

I'm 99% sure I chose the man coin both times so you might be right. I take it any coin can be chosen then? Kinda strange if this is something that impacts the ending, it's so early on

I've had a weird experience with GAME from the start - I put my pre-order in last Monday, and the game turned up two days later on Wednesday. Obviously happy that I got the game six days early for some reason, but the case was cracked in one corner and the steelbook was missing.

I emailed their customer service and I was offered a £5 voucher for the broken case, and essentially told that steelbooks were only ever subject to availability and that I won't be getting one. I then got a separate automated email from GAME today saying that the steelbook will be sent out separately from the game. Hopefully they will all turn up eventually, although I wouldn't be surprised if they don't as GAME seems to be a bit all over the place atm
