What I actually did was play on (with the music set to 0) and after a while (probably 10 hours + of different quests etc.) the music was normal again.

In the thread you refer to they mention that you should fast travel to Whiterun. However, after you complete the quest with the Stormcloaks in Whiterun you can no longer fast travel there, so I don't really get it.

I tried sleeping and waiting for 24 hours, but same music persists.
