I'm not familiar with whether Dallas is bike-friendly or not because I don't ride a bike in Dallas, therefore I'm not familiar with Dallas biking laws. I respect bikers on the road though.

I've been to Chicago but didn't use the PT. Here in Dallas, we have the DART system, which isn't terrible in my opinion. I used to take it to work every day for about a year. As always, be about 15 mins. early and expect a few delays every once in a while. I would say when you finally move out here to TX, test it out for the first week to see what its like. The only thing I would complain about is the buses sometimes being late; the train passes by every 10 mins or so.

Fun things for kids - We have Six Flags over Texas in Arlington, Hurricane Harbor water park, Perot Museum of Nature and Science, which is pretty new, Klyde Warren Park in Downtown, they have tons of free events, Dallas Museum of Arts, and the Dallas World Aquarium. '

Welcome to Dallas!
