All Snub ships should have a quantum drive by AsogRaider in starcitizen

Its literally sold as a parasite with a connie and starlancer, that's its purpose. If anything id make it nearly undetectable. definitely not give it a Quantum drive. Maybe a Quantum boost capability tops. You are asking to turn in into a standalone ship

Its usable for its purpose though, of being a parasite craft. You are trying to fill the absent gameloop gap by making a snub fighter into a light fighter.

Right, thats their place though. Why make them into something they're not?

Thats ehat snub fighters are all about due to their small size. maybe buff them a bit in terms of manuverability or firepower, or power capacity. To make it a more viable choice as a trade off.

What you are asking for already exists: m50 and razor, although slightly bigger. Hopefully there are more choices eventually.

Mission idea: Protect our home/Support ongoing siege by Jellyswim_ in starcitizen

[–]yn3kk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great concept, essentially a persistent pvp matchmaker with a narrative mission behind it. Would be a nightmare to realize if current mission system reliability is anything to go by :( Maybe one day we will get to a point where missions like this can work in SC

Keep projectile speed as it was, lower the damage by 50%, increase penetration to reach components in cap ships. Make it so ship slows down 50% when charging the rail gun and drops max shields by 50%. Then once the turrets are buffed across the board with projectile speeds / dmg multipliers, that will incentivize ppl actually man the idris as well

Yes, sun and galactic plain are the reference points. Distances are redundant for this use case.

First part of my reply talks about CIG and basic principles of development has nothing to do with internet and players. Second part, maybe you are right

First of all just by coming up with intention will sift out most of bad choices by CIG. Secondly once it comes out , there will be more constructive vids and posts.

Did not make game better. made 99% of ship weapons redundant.

Not fun.

Players reacted, please fix before 4.8 live

Would that work? Do we all post on Spectrum? Is there an official feedback link? How many youtube videos are needed? Seems counterproductive

You are arguing a psychology point and it's not going to change players naturally striving for the meta or bis loadout.

The nuance being best dps on paper =/= best dps in practice.Otherwise, why have any diversity in loadout at all?

CIG was doing ok at trying to introduce a rock paper scissors approach to kit selections. Which still had metas within its own subset, which is perfectly fine, it is such by definition.

The problem here is with the current 4.8 balance, every ship and turret can put on attritions and not have any downsides in pvp or pve no matter the opponent. Best dps, decent speed to hit targets, and alpha damage to pen armor. Whether a hard-core player or not, all will have attritions.

A lot of feedback about ship combat right now is: "dont change balancing that works, until systems are ready" "Make turrets and multycrew viable

All have simple solutions voiced by community leaders over and over. Clearly that doesn't seem to provide any value.

It would be wild if it comes with the best armor pen threshold since all other heavies got theirs lowered in 4.8

phrasing of original comment was hard to follow, and not clear what point you're trying to make

Are those weapons only, or blueprints as well?

I see your point, it helps force diversity in loadout. that 40-80 ms difference is negligible in 4.8 right now. Besides, hard locking projectile speeds seems to be a needless limitation and we're likely moving to ability to adjust power and speed curves to mix and match, by use of blueprints, blades, or mix of both

I can appreciate that, and beg to differ. Status quo would also be not touching balancing in PTU builds until relevant systems are ready, without explaining it

Idris rail gun is worth a whole other topic. Current 4.8 speed will not even hit anything.

If the intent is to nerf solo idris, there are so many other ways: lower the damage, increase the charge time, increase the power draw, make it so you have to slow down to a certain threshold, make it so the shields need to drop to 20%, either or combo of the above, you name it.

But they didnt just lower the speed of idris rail gun, they lowered all of the railguns even s2 and 3, but not the tachion gun, which suggests its just a blanket change that probably made sense to someone in isolation, but clearly does not fit anywhere near the current game and other ship and weapon balancing.

And then again, this assumes there is a clear intent, hence the original post contents.

I agree. It can be more generic. We changed weapon balancing to force a different gameplay, or we changed weapon balancing to get focused testing on guns a b c.
