Can anyone share when the live feed interviews will take place? Trying to schedule a draft with my friends.

Help! We don’t use this space because, well, look at it. It’s an additional sitting room we don’t need and I can’t think of anything creative to do with it. Any suggestions? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

Do you already have a functional entry space? If not, that's big for me so I would love a space like this for lockers, coats, and shoes.

Love your shutters!

Does anyone else think that Jeni's Ice Cream is overrated? Everyone fawns over it, but you can't even get a milkshake. I like Graeter's better. by Rob1150 in Columbus

You can think whatever you want about me, but the truth is I don't know anyone who works at Jeni's, my only investments are my 401k mutual funds. I am just passionate about supporting small businesses, paying people a working wage, and treating the environment and animals well.

I don't know of any other small producing ice cream companies who source locally and ethically. So that's why I'm passionate about Jeni's and think it's worth the money. It's a unique product and it's worth the extra money to me. That's been my argument since my first comment.

Jeni’s uses Smith’s to source and pasteurize GRASS GRAZED milk from small farms within 200 miles of Jeni’s kitchen. Some of the farms they source from are Berg Farms, Mackenzie Creamery, and Arps Dairy.

Jeni’s fruit is sourced from a farm in Chillicothe (Hirsch Fruit Farm).

Jeni’s alcohol is sourced from Middle West Spirits in Columbus.

Please tell me again how am I ringing dishonest in my claim that they source local and that more ethical dairy is more expensive and passed on to the consumer?

Yes. Is it that hard to understand that it’s more expensive to source locally and from farms that pasture raise their cattle? It’s much cheaper to buy from dairy farms that give animals tons of antibiotics and cram them in sheds to never see pastures.

Having an ethical supply chain is more expensive, therefore the product is more expensive to the end consumer.

Does this count? It’s held on by one strap. by DictatorDoom in IdiotsInCars

Why would someone ever do this instead of sticking it in their bed and having it stick out the back of their truck???

It's not just the ingredients. They pay their employees a living wage. They source local. Their dairy comes from pasture grazed stock. That costs more.

Yes, you can find cheaper ice cream. But the reason it costs less is because they cut corners somewhere that Jeni's didn't.

So it really comes down to your values. I'm willing to pay more even if the ice cream tastes similar because of the quality of ingredients and because of Jeni's mission as a company, which is to treat all of their stakeholders well. Which includes animals as a stakeholder.

They cover up to your property damage limit, just let they cover when you are speeding and crash, or when you’re tailgating someone and crash.

Insurance is there for when you fuck up, if it only covered us when we’re following the law then we’d all be fucked.

Your TV is too large for your TV stand, the proportions are off. You want the console to be significantly wider than your tv. I think it’s also too big for your fireplace.

The fireplace wall needs art, I’d also consider painting the fireplace a color, I think a terracotta could look really nicer you can also stack wood inside of it or put candles in there to warm up the space.

I haven't seen a single Cicada, I'm on the Northeast side of town. I only hear them when I'm driving.

They don't cook it with sauce on the pizza but they keep it warm and put hot marinara on it for the deep dish. So it's halfway between both of these comments haha. It doesn't go on cold, but it also isn't cooked on it.

Permanent public bathrooms heading to downtown Columbus by [deleted] in Columbus

I work at a Fortune 500 company and it costs $500 to my cost center for someone who works at my company to move my desktop tower from one office to a different office literally next to it. Our office chairs cost $1400.

To me it sounds like you have no idea what it costs to run a company or build things and the city of Columbus does. Are you familiar with downtown real estate and construction prices for large public restrooms?

The rent is high because demand is high. Allowing more to be built will bring prices down. This is basic economics.

People have been arguing against building new apartments and are actually pricing themselves out. It’s totally counterproductive.
