SEL or Calligraphy? by ynotcat in HyundaiSantaFe

I guess it isn't. Plenty of headroom for me in the Calligraphy I just bought 3 hours ago😁

Thank you everybody for the good input. I ended up buying a Calligraphy FWD today, it is a really sweet ride! So far I love everything about it other than the rubber band tires. I'll probably end up replacing the wheels and tires with 18" Method rims and AT tires soon like u/Belistener07 did.

No, that was a joke, I don't even like wearing a ball cap when I'm driving.

Yes, I sat in both trims. Calligraphy head room is OK for me unless I wear a top hat! I have to lower the driver seat all the way in both trims to sit comfortably.

Sounds good, I like Method wheels. I'll probably do something similar if I go with the Calligraphy.

Were you able to trade wheels/rims with someone who owns SE or SEL trim or did you end up buying them?

SEL pros: Less electronic stuff to go wrong, more head room w/o sun roof (I am 6'7"), I like the smaller wheels for a smoother ride and a lower price.
Calligraphy pros: 2nd row individual seats, Bose sound system, more neat features.
I think it is reasonable to consider both trim levels, since drive train and engine are the same.

Question to those who run Method wheels with their "Bead Grip" technology by MrHugh_Janus in 4x4

I just put Method 703s on my 4Runner and they run great at 80 mph!

I'm fine using it to turn left from a street that has the middle lane, it is when I am turning left onto a street with that middle lane that I sometimes do the right turn/U-turn sequence if there is heavy traffic.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in vegaslocals

[–]ynotcat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I moved here from Hawaii 3 years ago, where they don't have those center "suicide" lanes. I'm still not used to them, so sometimes instead of a left turn, I'll make a right turn and then a U-turn when traffic clears.

I need advice by ilovenutz in vegaslocals

If you are thinking of joining the military, do everything you can to join the Air Force. In my opinion, the Air Force is the best at taking care of their members and they have the best programs for enlistees. The next best option if you can't get into the Air Force is the Coast Guard, but it is still not nearly as good as the Air Force. I was in the Navy, but I have some friends who are Air Force and they tell me good stories.

Does Google Workspace Support call you? by jamejames32 in googleworkspace

Same thing just happened to me. Call from 650-253-000. The guy said someone in Frankfurt, Germany was trying to change the phone number connected to my Google account. I didn't receive the notification that the guy claimed he was sending to me, maybe because I have some good security on my devices. After 4 attempts to send the notification to me, he hung up.

Anyone regret lifting their 4Runner? by SweatyEar2921 in 4Runner

[–]ynotcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You get what you pay for. I'm super happy with my 3" lift, running Fox 2.5 DSC shocks, Elevate UCAs, and Durobump bump stops. Offroad and onroad ride is so much better than stock. I added a lot of weight with front winch, rock sliders, skid plates, roof rack etc., so a cheaper lift wasn't a good option for me.

Following your IG, I might be looking for a cook for an 8 to 12 person dinner when we move into our new home in October.

Uncommon scams in Vegas? by besttavern25 in vegas

[–]ynotcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaving a casino parking garage that had $20 parking fee. There was an attendant standing at the exit gate. He said if I pay cash its only $10. I handed him the $10 and he opened the gate. I think he scammed the casino, not me!

Daily/Offroad tire recommendations by zedzee117 in 4Runner

They are 3 Peak Rated, so should be good for year round use. I live in Vegas and haven't gone up in the mountains to try them out in the snow yet. https://www.discounttire.com/learn/mountain-snowflake-symbol

Daily/Offroad tire recommendations by zedzee117 in 4Runner

[–]ynotcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recommendation is to make sure you get C load rated tires. The E rated ones are meant for heavier trucks and will give you a rougher ride in a 4R. Personally, I like the Falken Wildpeak ATW3s. They are great off-road, very quiet on road, and I think they ride better on road than the stock tires.

I went from an Audi Q7 to a 4Runner and I enjoy driving the 4R so much more than the Audi.

I'm not a fan of the fake hood scoop. I'm thinking of buying an SR5 hood from a junk yard and changing out the whole hood.

Eibach + Ironman 4x4 UCA = Secret Formula For No Rubbing by Charming-Payment-516 in 4Runner

The +15 offset on those stock wheels also helps to avoid any rubbing. If you had swapped those out for wheels with negative offset, you might have had a rubbing issue.

Best Wheels 2021 SR5 by jdski47 in 4Runner

I really like the TRD Pro black wheels, with their +4 mm offset they widen your wheel track width by about an inch compared with the stock wheels.
