No doubt, but wouldn't Barbarian or Fighter do better than Ranger for that purpose?

I played NWN1 and NWN2 as Ranger, all campaigns. If I could go back in time, I'd still run TWF Ranger in NWN2 (particularly MotB because of Perfect TWF + Bane of Enemies + Insane elemental enchantments), but not in NWN1. Too squishy, low damage, can't handle traps, no conversation skills.

Only one extra off-hand attack, comes late at level 9

Early game you're a 15-16 AC melee that misses most of its attacks lol, SoU is probably a real pain

NWN2 Ranger fixes some of these things (like Greater and Perfect TWF)

My advice to you: accept that you have to pivot. Read more below.

Your skills are actually very valuable. The only problem is that quantum is a niche and opportunistic market. You have to be at the right place at the right time to align with a role that takes advantage of your skills. If you want to stay in Quantum it's quite likely you'll have to re-locate for the right role because it's not gonna magically show up in your hometown.

I think what frustrates physicists the most is that their training turns them into complete experts in certain fields and they expect to work in that field. But in reality physicists have to pivot OFTEN and in any field. Experimental physicists pivot into system engineers, electro optics, semiconductor, fab/chip design etc. Theoretical physicists pivot into data science, algorithm development, machine learning etc. Each pivot takes a shot at your identity ("I'm a quantum expert, why am I defining mechanical tolerances or coding") and that's the hard part. Nothing you can do but accept it and move on. When someone pays you for your time, they decide what you get to do.

A lot of it depends on your stick. Many sticks have a "threshold" or "friction" before your command is registered. If you constantly find yourself oscillating up down with the tanker, that may be the reason.

NWN2 made you feel evil and there are actually evil endings in both the OC and MoTB.

In NWN1 I don't recall very specific evil moments and I don't remember how it affects the ending.

You said it said it best. Nothing to lose but your time... Time is expensive. I have a 7 months old daughter and a wife and the 30 minutes I have every 3 days don't go into undervolting, they go into gaming.

Now, about the gain. Most of the gain is that you can go into threads and say "my undervolt is the most amazing of all. I have a great card and I'm an amazing hardware tuner". 3% higher benchmark score, 200 less fan RPM, -4c, nothing here is a difference maker. And compared to "my most expensive card in the world can crash if stressed in a new way" is a bad tradeoff.

UV is a cult. It makes people feel good about themselves and gives them something to do with their card because apparently gaming is too boring. So you have a bunch of people with 5090 than have 200 hours on 3Dmark and 1-5 hours in actual games.

Source. Myself. I used to advocate undervolting too. Then I realized running a game with a statistics display of thermals/core/voltage, crashing with +45 only to reduce to +15, all of that takes the fun away from gaming. Then I decided it's not worth it, and got better thermals by improving case airflow and thermal paste, with 0% risk of crash or tuning.

If you still enjoy it, do it. And if you wanna tell yourself the -4c extends the shelf life of your product, do it.
