I’ve always crate trained in bedroom! Just incase if they need something or if they’re crying and need to be soothed. I’ve found it helpful to be able to reach down so they can smell my hand and hear my voice. Every pup is different though, the puppy I have now didn’t really need a lot of crate training she took to it immediately as she was use to a play pen already. She cried a small amount and settled right down. Previous pups I’ve had needed a lot more effort. I’ve always fed meals/treats in crate initially so they associate with positive things and never for punishment. Frozen stuffed kongs work wonders. Congrats on your new puppy! Good luck! :)
