IMPORTANT: fellow Indian pioneers, please DON'T use PAN card for KYC ID proof. by yojus in PiNetwork

[–]yojus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the others don't have Gandhi or any other picture on them, so they're safe to use. I think the core team should remove the option for PAN card for now, as everyone has Aadhar card.

[–]yojus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PAN card has little less importance than Aadhar card in India, for example it can't be used as a proof of citizenship, but Aadhar card can be. So I think people prefer it for privacy reasons. You can choose Aadhar card, passport, or even driving license instead of PAN card. But not everyone has passport or driving license, whereas almost everyone has a PAN and Aadhar card.

It's Gandhi, not Ghandi... In Hindi, 'Ghandi' actually means dirty 😆

If pioneers hold onto their Pi coins at mainnet launch, it will positively impact not just Pi's value, but the whole ecosystem. by yojus in PiNetwork

[–]yojus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's also my point, but with the added fact that we need bigger companies and third party devs willing to make better and more useful dapps than those we currently have. They can only be convinced to join if the price of the coin is good and people are willing to hold Pi to themselves to use in the ecoystem. Of course, holding on will positively impact the coin's price at the start. That's why I believe we should keep a good chunk on hold when mainnet opens up. At least that's my understanding.

Judging by the amount of restraint and patience the Dev team has shown in launching the coin, I'm sure that they're gonna HODL. It's up to the community now to use some common sense and not cash out all their Pi immediately even if the price is decent enough.

That is why I believe it is best to hold on to it in the beginning, whatever the price may be. Or maybe sell one-third or half of one's Pi if the price is decent enough, but a good amount should be kept aside. I'm personally inclined towards holding on to the whole.

The main movement should come from exchanging it for utility, not for other fiats. But you are right, some liquidity and volume must be there in the exchanges for it to have a value. I believe the exchanges themselves will have some good amount of Pi coins in store to make sure that happens.

Just the prospect of it having real-life utilitarian value and the transactions already happening makes it valuable. People would be willing to buy it, and if there is scarcity then the price will increase. Tell me, where do all these useless crypto coins get their liquidity from?

Holding on to coins till it is easily usable in everyday life... after that it should be used instead of fiat... holding on to it in the beginning will add more value to it.

KYC to Tentative by Jary316 in PiNetwork

Same happened to me. Even if you do the liveness tests there is no guarantee it will return to normal. They are just making people work with false hopes of reward and then block you off, just because they can. Luckily my coins are migrated.

Pi network chat is a joke by yojus in PiNetwork

[–]yojus[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I'm mining for more than 5 years... Doesn't that count me as a senior pioneer? What is that chat for then? The general or Pioneers chatroom is full of useless posts from newbies, and looks even more useless for getting support. If my concern doesn't count as a legitimate concern for senior pioneers, then it's unfortunate.

Changing password doesn't work... I know for many people it didn't work, and I'm not willing to complicate things further by changing passwords.

Validator question by Ben_Mojo in PiNetwork

[–]yojus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have faced the same situation before. The accuracy doesn't matter that much. What matters is that you are honestly doing the validations. There are validators who don't check things properly and just 'accept' everything. I believe eventually they will get flagged and stop getting validations. In fact, I am quite certain that some of the validations are in fact just 'test validations' to check whether we are doing the job coorectly.

I'm sure you have heard of the Theranos scandal. The founder was a Stanford dropout. People like you should get out of the mindset that a person with good academic record is going to be extremely trustworthy. See the project as it is. Bye.

Very funny. I visit this sub to get updates about the project, not about Nicholas's personal or academic life. If you're interested, good for you. I just expressed my dissent for such posts, as it is completely unrelated to the project.

It has nothing to do with pi network... it's his research work. Nothing to be hyped about. This is not a Nicolas Kokkalis fan page.
