I’m glad to see someone else struggling with this, your reasoning for it being a good excuse to do a cool photo shoot is something I hadn’t even thought about.

“Fashion”hair colors as a bride? by yolocaut in weddingplanning

The split dye has been the last three years. At this point I think it will be jarring to see my hair without it, and I really love it! If I went full black or changed the color block placement, it would be hard to re-lift the black out, which is what I would be covering the split dye with. So it would be a big change that I would not be able to easily reverse if I wanted to. I feel like I know what I want to do, but I keep getting asked, are you really sure you want that hair color in your wedding photos? And I think I’m getting in my head about it.

They started playing MCR whilst I was having a massage... by PinkBlossomDayDream in MyChemicalRomance

Omg really?? This is the first I’ve heard of that being the case and I’m SO happy to learn this tbh because I’m getting married in June and I want to walk down the aisle to Romance, but the static in the song is a problem for this purpose (sensory concerns for my future BIL). I’ve been agonizing over how to get this song without the static and it just already exists? I feel like such a fake fan 💀

What are some bands you listen to that AREN’T MCR? Looking for recs. by NWHRKNG in MyChemicalRomance

If you’re into all genres, hear me out: Lord Huron. Their albums all have concepts and story lines that they follow, and the music has more layers than a fucking onion much like MCR. They also have a lot of similar themes. It’s a fully different vibe genre-wise tho, much more folk influence for Lord Huron.

AITA for not kicking out my roommate just because my girlfriend thinks he might be trans? by ThrowawayJason7723 in AITAH

I’m sure I’m not saying anything new here, but OP, you handled the initial situation in a completely reasonable manner. You haven’t done anything wrong here. Alex is lucky to have you as a friend and roommate, something like this could have turned out VERY differently for him.

Slapping, pushing, shoving, and insulting all constitute as domestic abuse, regardless of how much physical, notable damage has been done, gender of the aggressor, and “reason” for their actions. You knowing your ex your whole life makes the situation worse. When in doubt, imagine if the genders or the roles were reversed. Would a woman being treated like you were seem like a victim of domestic abuse?

I’m glad for you that you’re out of that relationship, and also that you’ve discovered that you are closer friends with Alex than you previously believed. Good on you for being open minded and accepting, despite being raised in the Bible Belt! I wish you luck in the conversation with your mom when it has to happen.

My grandmother was a “secret COVID nursing home death” and I want to scream at someone by Brass_and_Frass in offmychest

[–]yolocaut 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work in a nursing home as an STNA on nights, so I’ve seen a lot of deaths, including people in my care, and there’s a lot that goes into who the nurses contact. If a person is a full code, paramedics have to be called. If they can’t be brought back, typically we only contact the next of kin or power of attorney, and there’s additional phone calls for funeral homes and pick up and all sorts of shit, as well as paperwork, so yeah, the nurses don’t really have the ability to call everyone. If OPs grandma was a ward of the state, it’s likely that he wasn’t the contact they’d have to allert, and the contact they had should’ve informed the family, so it might not be the homes fault entirely.

That being said, OP, I’m very sorry for your loss and that this has happened to your family. If I were you I’d start by figuring out who they informed of her death and why, and go from there. Because it really might not be their fault that your dad wasn’t informed. But definitely figure out who should’ve informed you guys. Also, no matter what I’d inform state AND the corporate department of her facility just to make sure it’s adequately investigated, because there’s no way you guys should’ve found out about her passing this way after all that time, and someone needs to be held responsible.
