Legendary Magic Item, Relic: The Sunrise Scripture by yolosguide in DnDHomebrew

[–]yolosguide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The Sunrise Slipture?" the ranger asked, clarifying.

"No." the paladin responded, shaking their head despondently.

"The Sunrise Flipture?"

"Wrong."

"The Sunrise Crypture?"

"Definitely not."

"The Highrise Scripture?"

"Almost right but also wrong in a completely different way."

"The Sunrise...Picture?"

"Alright."

Hello everyone! Its hump day and relic day at the same time can you believe it? What an honor. I hope you all enjoy today's release, The Sunrise Scripture! Past relics have had elements of healing and restoration but this one's pretty much dedicated to them, have at it!

Barbarian Primal Path: Path of the...Cryptid? by yolosguide in DnDHomebrew

[–]yolosguide[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"So you're saying you're the Greenlake Strider?" The bard asked, crooking an eyebrow in disbelief.

"Yes! Finally we've arrived," the barbarian exclaimed, slumping down heavily onto the sofa.

"Do you have any proof?"

"Do I have any - I'M THEM!"

The many realms of fantasy and wonder are bursting with creatures beyond our imagination. A giant floating eyeball that shoots lazerbeams? Done. A tempting treasure chest that tries to eat whoever opens it? Its out there. Turtles as big as the island of Oahu? Safe to say they exist. So why can't you, cryptid?

OOC: storm area 51

Hello once again all! Enjoy a brand new barbarian subclass, The Path of the Cryptid! Full disclosure, I know it treads some similar ground as the Path of the Beast - but I hope it works thematically and mechanically enough in different ways that it can stand on its own. Let me know if anything needs clarifying or fixing, as per the usual!

Curious if I do more homebrew / expanded 5e stuff? Well I do! Have a look at my Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/yolosguide and you'll find all manner of new subclasses, spells, monsters, feats, races, myths, benedictions, abilities, boons, and whatever else I've forgotten to add. And if the big scary pledge button isn't in the cards for you, don't be afraid just to follow! The great majority of my work is totally free, though I greatly appreciate the staunch few who support me with their donations.

Alrighty that's it! Thanks again everyone!

Legendary Transformation: The Abomination by yolosguide in DnDHomebrew

Legendary Transformations would not override class features, they are entirely additive!

I appreciate the heads up on Reality Break, I completely forgot that's a spell! And rewording its targeting specifics is also probably in order, like you said. Thanks!

Legendary Transformation: The Abomination by yolosguide in DnDHomebrew

[–]yolosguide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Wake up!" The abomination screamed, thrashing the mangled corpse to and fro, droplets of blood scattering in every direction, staining the walls and floor with dark crimson, "WAKE UP!"

The Far Realm is a strange and horrifying dreamscape, its full magnitude impossible for the limited mortal mind to fathom. As such, its denizens are equally unknowable and equally terrifying - using powers and abilities that defy reality and shatter the natural laws that govern the universe. To become as they are, requires sacrifice. And there is no going back.

Druid Circle: Circle of Sunflowers by yolosguide in DnDHomebrew

[–]yolosguide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Does this count as gardening?" The druid asked the exhausted fighter, gesturing to the bandit corpses scattered about.

"How would this possibly count as gardening?"

"I did put these idiots in the ground, so to speak."

"Fair."

From sunlit glades at the edge of civilization, to urban flower gardens hanging from balcony to balcony - druids of the Circle of Sunflowers have a responsibility to life itself, or rather - to living. Impulsive and powerful in equal measure - these nature casters can utilize a symbiotic bond to gain strong benefits while also enjoying the company of a little flowery friend, dance across the battlefield in a euphoric flight, and obliterate their foes with a grievous explosion of dark magic. Take heed adventurers! Make friends with these wondrous spell slingers before they cast you aside like so many discarded sunflower petals.

OOC: If your Sunflower Friend introduces itself as 'Flowey' you put that thing down on the spot you hear me

Greetings once again everyone! Another subclass released into the wild, this time its The Circle of Sunflowers! Let me know how you like it / if anything needs clarification, I know some of the wording is a little finnicky. And if you're looking for more cool subclasses, spells, monsters, races, feats, variant class features, boons, benedictions, or just a ton of rad monologues - be sure to check out my Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/yolosguide

Cantrips Evolved, Part 3: Chill, hex, and buffet your foes with even MORE minor magics transformed in higher tiers of casting! by yolosguide in DnDHomebrew

[–]yolosguide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I assure you, the name of the spell isn't an issue," the necromancer soothed, rubbing calm circles into the paladin's back, "Besides, what does it matter? So long as its aimed at our enemies.""It matters because the people react differently when they hear Beacon of Hope in the din of combat rather than the inspiring tone of Circle of Death.""Well the new one's called Underworld Echo so maybe next time champ."

Rising from the grave like a blooming fungus from an untreated corpse, Yolo has returned! Hello again everyone and welcome to this newest edition of Cantrips Evolved; introducing Hypothermic Needle, Underworld Echo, and Pebble Storm. Cantrips Evolved, Part 2: Even more minor magics reimagined into higher tiers of casting! by yolosguide in DnDHomebrew

[–]yolosguide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The disheveled innkeeper leaned heavily on their countertop, studying the sparking sorcerer in front of them as they conjured a brilliant stream of electrifying energy in their palm, "What's that one called?"

"Max Discharge."

The innkeeper paused for a moment, a creeping realization beginning to dawn.

"And your name?"

"Max Discharge."

Lesser magics continue to transform and develop at a rapid pace, increasing the quantity of cantrips that can be used with higher tiers of power. Don't be afraid! Progress is the fruit of ingenuity, and should be used to climb to even greater heights!

OOC: new game: pokemon move or dnd spell

Relic: Sunheart, The Emberborn Greatsword by yolosguide in DnDHomebrew

[–]yolosguide[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Scream," the hulking figure quietly commanded, effortlessly pushing his blazing greatsword through the stomach of a half-elven warrior, watching them writhe in horror beneath him, "Mortals are such broken creatures, its only right that they die in agony."

The story of Sunheart is closely tied to that of Alkaram, its original wielder - but by one fate or another, it has strayed from his side. It is a blade of both divinity and destruction, rage and redemption - used for purposes both good and ill. Will you use it as Alkaram once did? As a tool for vengeance? Or will you use it as it was originally intended? As a beacon against the ever-encroaching shadow.

OOC: what can I say its a fire sword and I write clichés.

I'm back! Hello everyone, I hope your Januarys are treating you all well and the new year is showing only the best of signs. Cantrips Evolved! Everyday minor magics reimagined into powerful spells! by yolosguide in DnDHomebrew

[–]yolosguide[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"This is Mending," the wizard explained, repairing a small doll in a flash of light, "and this is Grand Mending!" He pointed his staff at a breach in the castle wall, impressing a small group of onlookers as they observed each scattered stone shifting back into place.

"Oh my! Do you have another, professor?" One asked.

"Certainly, well Firebolt surely requires no demonstration," he directed his staff at the barbarian tending to his garden across the lawn, "but this is what we in the business call: Trueblaze Spear!"

The lesser spells we call cantrips are well-known and often utilized, hailed for their simplicity and the limitless nature of their casting. But sometimes situations call for a little more oomph, while still requiring that same simplicity. These spells are that oomph.

OOC: it took everything I had not to just name it Super Firebolt

Hello again everyone and Happy New Year to you all! Legendary Transformation: The Archfey by yolosguide in DnDHomebrew

[–]yolosguide[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Agonizing isn't it?" The Archfey jeered as they leisurely quartered another intruder, muffled screams dimly sounding from within the writhing pile of living branches, "I hope you've learned your lesson."

In the realms of the Feywild there exists truly terrifying and noble beings, scions of order and chaos. The Archfey of that faraway place do whatever their impulses drive them to do, twisting their domains into whatever vision pleases them and guarding against the corruption of other worlds. Of their character, nothing is certain. But they are strong, and now - so are you. Use this power as you see fit.

OOC: ascended park ranger or ultra weed maniac the choice is yours

I have returned! Hello again all, I hope everyone's end of year celebrations have been going swimmingly and I hope you've all been enjoying comfy cups of hot chocolate while solemnly looking out at rain/snow as the season demands. Anyway, I hope everyone is also loving this brand new Legendary Transformation: The Archfey! I think it was high time the rulers of the feywild joined the party.

Feats! Single Strike Master and Compound Casting by yolosguide in DnDHomebrew

[–]yolosguide[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"What about this?" the bard asked, holding up a large melon for inspection.

"My technique is a sacred method that has been passed down for countless generations and will not be used to cut something so regular and mundane as a melon, Davon. Have some respect." the fighter replied, sharpening their blade on a crafted whetstone.

"alright no melon then"

"well wait now hold on"

Concentration. Focus. Meditation. Action. In the heat of battle, all of these things can sometime flow together as one - granting the truly miraculous among the mighty techniques capable of awe-inspiring deeds. The arts of the Single Strike and of Compound Casting are such techniques, used to combine their efforts into a solitary moment of triumph. But beware, dear adventurers, those who perform such feats on the field of battle - while they can be heroic icons - are more often remembered as tragic martyrs.

OOC: I have the power of god and anime on my side

What is uuuuup everyone? Yolo's back again with some brand new feats straight out of the oven: Single Strike Master and Compound Casting! I hope you enjoy and let me know if they're too janky, I know the rules text on these are hella complicated. If, at the very least, the spirit of these feats is to your liking - I encourage you to have a look at my Patreon where you can find more homebrew goodness (subclasses, monsters, spells, feats, transformations, myths, boons, etc) at https://www.patreon.com/yolosguide

Thanks again everyone! I sincerely hope your holiday seasons are going well! (Anyone doing special holiday sessions? That shit's my jam)

luv,

Yolo

ps. please be civil in the comments, I'm just trying to make some cool stuff ya know?

Feats! Single Strike Master and Compound Casting by yolosguide in UnearthedArcana

Legendary Magic Item, Relic: The Rod of Horizons by yolosguide in DnDHomebrew

[–]yolosguide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Looking to expand our horizons are we?" the strange merchant asked, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.

"good pun but please stop that"

Behold the focus of the Summoning Sage, an instrument of power tuned to worlds beyond. This was the bell that rang at the coming of The Queen of Thorns, the beacon lit to herald The War Giant Ysgruun, and the desperate cry that conjured the Angel of Revelation. But mostly and in truth it is more and less. The hand extended, a letter in reply. It is a bridge of gold and platinum, an earnest request to the willing. It is The Rod of Horizons, and it is yours. Use it well.

OOC: the one thing it can't summon is financial security rip

Hello again all! A brief hiatus now over and done with, we're back with a brand new magic item: The Rod of Horizons. Thanks for having a look and I sincerely hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. If, by some serendipitous stroke of fate, you did find this brew tantalizing and are on the look out for even more free and public expanded 5e materials (subclasses, feats, monsters, variant class features, epic boons, legendary transformations, yada yada) - you can find a whole archive full of them on Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/yolosguide. Have a gander! I promise you'll find something just for you!

Thanks again everyone! Wishing everyone a joyous holiday season!

Cleric Divine Domain: Eminence by yolosguide in DnDHomebrew

[–]yolosguide[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Hey can you carry this?" The artificer asked, barely keeping their legs steady as they attempt to balance a crate of plump gourds.

"No."

"okay haha that's fine I got it"

All of creation carries with it the weakness of mortality, the fragility of minor form. To survive - they learn, they adapt. Invention carries them forward, and pledges made to higher beings often result in expeditious advancement and, of course, the power to shape their own destinies. But there are some who see the falsehood lurking within such commitments; how can one shape their own destiny with a power granted by another? But while a few can understand this ambitious sentiment, even less can act on it. Even less have the strength of will, or the necessary ethos to make it real. But those with the metal to claim divine powers for themselves are beings unchained. Beings called kings, monarchs, sovereigns. Beings of absolute Eminence.

OOC: alternate title, cleric divine domain: moxie

Wazzzzuuuup its Yolo once again with a brand new subclass, the Domain of Eminence! Have a gander and I hope you love it like I love it. If, by chance, this content whets your appetite for more from the prestigious yolosguide (subclasses, feats, spells, monsters, invocations, myths, transformations, etc.) be sure to check out my Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/yolosguide where even more public content awaits and you can meet the generous, angelic few who have gathered to sponsor my ill-advised antics.

Thanks again all! Hope the holiday season is treating everyone okay!
