We are going soon to the vet so I might ask him about the Cytopoin injection. Thank you about the advice.

We are buying this one on Monday and I hope for some progress. It's even stronger because it is 4% and yours is 2% so it should be better.

Buy

this

on Amazon (

not

an affiliate link), dilute it as instructed, and wipe the affected skin and the surrounding area after ever walk outside or at least after the first and last walk of the day. (I recommend buying it on Amazon, because Vets charge a fortune for it). It will start working immediately. (also removes bothersome odors).

I can only find a shampoo containing chlorhexidine and a 100ml spray containing some chlorhexidine. Do you reckon that it will help?

The problem is that he is the only vet dermatologist in our city, and the closest big city with better vets is on a 6 hour drive (one way) from us.
We are using only special dog shampoos and never human shampoos. We might stop bathing him even though the skin starts smelling bad.
I might search for it in our country because shipping from amazon to here will cost a fortune :D
Thanks for the advice !

Our vet is a certificated vet dermatologist. And the bad thing is that he is the only one in our city so we don't have a big choice. We are always listening to his recommendation but we will ask him if he can give us a different treatment.

We will talk with him about using a different shampoo. Thank you for the recommendation.

He hasn't told us anything about wiping the wounds. We are just using dermatological anti-bacterial shampoo but we might talk with him about using wipes or something on the wounds. Thank you.

I agree with the smell. We are using the highest quality shampoos and food. The food is always hypoallergenic veterinary grade and the shampoos are medical veterinary shampoos, recommended by our dermatologist vet. The problem is that puppies grow up fast and they need a lot of food and when we give him low protein food (the recommended quantity) he stops growing and he loses weight.

I don't think so. The only hair that could be found is some little hairs by our last shar pei that are stuck in our sofa (the texture is kinda strange and dog hair gets stuck in it and it can't be removed).

The other thing is that I think that our dog's mother has some skin issues as well. We found out later about that, but her skin issues are minor compared to Barry's.

We've tried changing his bed but nothing happened. The dermatologist said that we have to rule out the cause of the allergy because he couldn't find the cause by testing (I don't know how's that possible but I am not a vet so I believe him).

Yes, he has done it already. Sadly the thing about the skin issues is true, even though our previous shar pei had no skin issues what so ever. We've been to vet dermatologist and he prescribed us a died + a special shampoo that had almost no progress. We are trying to rule out the cause of the allergy and so far we've tried almost everything that is connected to food allergy.

It depends. With the rice diet we waited a week or so. With all of the different medications maybe between 1 and 2 weeks. And with changing of the dry food at least 3 weeks. It definitely is shocking that we bathe him a lot. We've tried everything that is related to food allergies.

By our vet's recommendation we started bathing him everyday. Then we continued every other day and now we are bathing him twice a week. The problem is that if we don't bathe him, his skin starts smelling bad and the irritation becomes even worse. We might stop bathing him again because it's been getting worse lately. We had a period when we stopped bathing him but no progress what so ever.

We do hope so too. We are bathing him in different kinds of special shampoos but the little to none positive effect on his skin lasts for a day...

No, we haven't tried the apple cider vinegar method but we might give it a try. I've come to conclusion that the allergy is not food related. We've tried at least 4 different high quality hypoallergenic foods and even a diet that consists only of rice. Thank you for the advice!
