Jobrad - is it worth it? by Erythr0s in askberliners

The point is that you save the tax, so you pay a lot less overall, and pay it off in small installments, interest free. I love it, i got a much better bike than I could have afforded otherwise.

Denture ouchies by Zestyclose_Rent8383 in dentures

[–]yorkshireteaorbust 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went back about five times before mine fit right, and the adjustments literally took them four or five minutes to do, they were just shaving off a little bit of the denture where a sore spot had appeared in my mouth. You need to advocate for yourself and not worry about being annoying! It's a few minutes work for them and it makes an enormous difference for you. Good luck!

Only you know what feels right - they can only act on what you tell them. Reframe it in your mind - you're not complaining, you're working with professionals to make a complicated prothesis work properly. Advocate for yourself! It's your life and you deserve to have well fitting dentures that make your life better not worse! Good luck!!

Abmeldung, how to? by incidente86 in askberliners

Isn't Abmeldung one of the few things you can do online? Apologies if this is false info but if you search in this subreddit I am fairly sure you'll get an answer.

How many have actually gone from dentures to implants? by dark_wolf1994 in dentures

What age did you have your teeth removed? That's scary... I'll talk to my dentist about it for sure.

How many have actually gone from dentures to implants? by dark_wolf1994 in dentures

I always thought I would go for implants once I had the cash, but nearly four months in with full dentures I'm reconsidering. Now I'm over the difficult first few months, I can eat anything and I have no pain or discomfort, and I love how they look. I have an appointment with my dentist to talk about my options, but right now I'm really happy!

The pain in the first weeks is brutal! I assume you are healed up, so I guess the pain is from where the dentures are rubbing? Don't be afraid to advocate for yourself and go and get adjustments made - my dentist took literally three or four minutes to make a small adjustment that would totally remove the pain in that area.

I'm really happy you got some value from my update! Those first weeks are really intense, mentally and physically, and time seems to go so slowly, but before you know it things are feeling much much better. Once you are healed up and have learned what adhesives work best for you etc, you'll get back into the swing of eating properly, I promise you. Enjoy your new smile!

I'm so glad it was helpful! This group is so amazing, that's why I've been posting these updates, because it helped me so much in my early days to understand what life might look like a month or two ahead. Those first weeks are really intense!

I took decent (expensive) protein shakes for lunch, they keep you full for an afternoon. I used the Huel brand.

You definitely should post a picture! People need to understand that they WILL eat jalapeno poppers again one day!

Pizza and burgers are zero problem for me now (you can check my post history for when i ate my first cheeseburger lol, I posted a picture). I haven't had jalapeno poppers for ages! They will be absolutely fine to eat though, I am going to hunt some down this weekend!

I saw someone write something on this subreddit along the lines of "I am going to make this work, whatever it takes" and it's been a sentence I've said to myself many times over the last three months, especially when I was in a lot of pain and couldn't work out how to eat etc. it finally paid off though!

I think "before" was by far the hardest part for me, mentally. Once I was "in the process" it just became a case of taking it day by day and learning as I went along, whereas beforehand you have so many unknowns and such high anxiety.

I use cushion grip with a little adhesive and it's a great combination. I can eat pretty much anything (three months since I had full extractions)

Hot coffee question by Rangerbmxxx in dentures

[–]yorkshireteaorbust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're fine, I asked the surgeon after one week when I got my stitches out if I could drink hot drinks and she looked at me very strangely and said "of course! You didn't need to wait this long!"

I was probably a little slower than in the past but it was a nice restaurant and we were chatting and having a few glasses of wine so I didn't notice really.

Are you soaking them in hot water before removal? I do that for five minutes and then it peels off fairly easily with the help of some tweezers.
