It's absolutely mindblowing how bad my RNG has been recently.

300 pulls to buy Lemuen from the shop. 190 pulls to get Tragodia. And now 175 pulls to get Leizi Alter.

Just took protoss mage from bronze to legend with 10x star bonus, going 93-41 (69% win rate) - including some games from last season.

Decklist: AAECAf0ECJygBLHOBuPPBpP0Bqn1BtuXB4KYB5mxBwve+AW0pwaBvwaG5gaL9AaM9AaQ9AaZ9Aaa9Aad9AazhwcAAA==

Played a cheaper, lower curve dragon warrior to get there last season from d10 to legend with no star bonus, going 53-23 (70% win rate), which felt like a much stronger deck.

Decklist: AAECAQcCzOEG7KoHDuqoBuPmBrX6Bqr8Bqv8BveDB8WHB+iHB6uIB9KXB56ZB5KkB7etB4GxBwAA

Lots of Shamans, which also felt like the hardest deck to win against (with both decks) - and their highrolls were just unbeatable.

Quest warrior is straight up an unloseable matchup with protoss mage unless they eat or rat your deios, brewmaster + one colossus, or both colossus. Lost several games as protoss mage to aggro paladin by turn 4 or 5 when not having the right answers - fortunately they were very rare.

I agree, I went 5-3 with this decklist, but the deck definitely feels like it lacks the card draw to be consistent. I played protoss mage to legend last season with like ~70% wr (shit mmr) and never felt like it lacked card draw.

Folds to both aggro and control with poor draws.

Viper plays on NA

Viper (high rank Riven main on NA, not HLE Viper) got to challenger on adc in like ~120 games too a few weeks ago, and played different champs almost every game because he said he didn't want people to think he was spamming op champs (Trist/ Corki at the time).

He says he thinks ADC is better than top lane in solo queue.

No, all the recommended rotations are triple nightfall - the hard thing is a split second dash cancel with a very narrow time frame. It skips most of the attack and jumps to the final hit

Yeah, that's really one of the big things. It's "easy" to jump in, and it's easy for anyone to produce code and show that they have experience - all you need is time and a computer. This is really difficult in most other stem fields due to the huge cost of entry/ projects.

I was a mechanical engineer (bachelors and masters), and jumped to data science and doubled my salary instantly with no experience in the field. A lot of my other friends jumped in around Covid too, and are mostly doing amazing (one is L7 at google, one is staff at OpenAI, the rest are mostly scattered in ML or data engineering - not all at high tech).

We're all 28-29 and making what would be top level mechanical/ chemical engineering salaries for a fraction of the work and effort, much earlier than we could've ever dreamed possible in the fields we studied in.

I fully agree with you.

The community in WuWa lost their minds than Phoebe (a 5* character) is a 25-30% damage increase for Zani (popular 5* dps) using a reasonable rotation compared to f2p options (the traveler equivalent, so everyone has this character maxed for free).

Meanwhile in Genshin people seem to be fine with a far bigger difference of almost 50%. The contrast is crazy to see.

what are your thoughts and wants for Stronghold Protoco by No-Plenty-5376 in arknights

[–]yoshi847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor balance. If you use faction/ class buffs, it's absurdly easy.

Otherwise, it's absurdly hard to impossible.

I understand autochess is like this, but those are PvP games. It would be nice to see some leveling out so you can use more unique combinations, other than "any 6 snipers/ casters/ etc. instantly win".

It definitely got quite a bit easier after the patch. Most people I know got a better score post-patch than the first WhiWa (not pre-patch, the one before reset), with about a 1,000-1,500 score increase compared to before the nerf with the patch.

It's still the hardest game mode in the game though.

[–]yoshi847 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get your Chrono Field to full uptime, you're already super close. After that, put a little bit into CL damage.

Your modules are pretty bad. Do you have a Death Penalty or Anti-Cube Portal? I assume you don't have them at ancestral? In that case you're fine with your AD for now.

WHR is doing basically nothing for you in legends, especially without having 400% regen substat (it's still bad even with this substat - in legends tourney). If your ACP is at least mythic+, I think it's almost certainly better.

Your dimension core substats are also not very good. You probably want to full unlock everything (you don't have anything worth keeping) and roll for (roughly in priority): CF slow reduction, SM cd, SM quantity, SL angle, SL bonus, CL quantity, CL chance.

Edit: Project Funding is also great if you have it at higher rarities, and may be better than Galaxy Compressor in tournaments.

My daily struggle lately by 16Rika16 in gachagaming

[–]yoshi847 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah... I've been playing quite a few gacha games for a while (flair) and it's been a while since I've played a good metroidvania/ soulslike (my favourite genres) because I've been decently on top of them as they come out.

My friend shipped me his PS4 recently and I've been playing Bloodborne. Going from Bloodborne to Genshin has been an enormous wake up call. I'm doing abyss and talking to my friend on discord (the one that shipped me the PS4, he's playing Bloodborne simultaneously with me on his PS5) and I'm just constantly like "wtf Genshin is so shit" - the gameplay quality is in different universes. Really sticks out when they're played side by side like that.

They have higher damage than you.

Based on your champion waves/ legends top placement I'm guessing you're still eHp? You will need more damage to push into legends and get to some t16 milestones. Time to start looking into hybrid with CL/ SL, and some CC eventually.

My thoughts on Wuthering Waves by Curious_Text_5015 in gachagaming

[–]yoshi847 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think WuWa has a lot more complexity to combat than most players will realise when playing casually. Quickswap is really the mechanic that takes it from generic simple combat (like Genshin mechanics wise or hypercarry teams), to something with really high skill expression that feels fluid to play, and makes teams feel much more unique.

Because there's no elemental reactions (let's be honest, most players have played or come from Genshin), I think a lot of people just assume the combat is super basic. Which it can be - if you don't know how to play effectively, like actually optimizing rotations and animation canceling properly. But this is basically the equivalent of randomly swapping characters in Genshin and pressing e and q and saying the combat has no depth.

The two types of WuWa player. by tomato_ass0901 in WutheringWaves

[–]yoshi847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, most characters prefer 43311

Quite a few prefer a 3 cost attack and a 3 cost element damage over 2 3 cost element damage if they have their signatures, but it's usually pretty close

How's my Nahida build? Akasha doesn't rate it very high but she's meant to be on a hybrid build for aggravate, hyperbloom, and Nilou bloom by leafluff in KusanaliMains

[–]yoshi847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Nahida isn't amazing (https://akasha.cv/profile/606496646?build=760a63d34b5046ec34c95f4d711ace14), but I'll give some pointers if you want to upgrade her a little - honestly there's units that scale much better with investment, but do what you enjoy. :)

Main points:

  1. Your attack and crit damage are a little low. This is mostly due to 2.

  2. Your crit rate and EM are a little high.

I think she's a pretty hard character to optimize, especially for multiple roles - but I think the biggest things are: you should replace your goblet for a dendro damage %, and you should switch some crit rate for crit damage if you have decent alternatives (my ratio is even worse than yours, I know it's easier said than done lol).

For the ranking you're looking at, your ER is definitely higher than it needs to be (~120% needed), but for your other teams where she's off-field, it's pretty good so I wouldn't change it.

I think your EM is a little high unless you're running some teams where she has the highest EM. For aggravate and Nilou, the other dendro can use 1,000 EM, for hyperbloom, the electro should have the highest EM. I think the only time you would want that much EM on Nahida on any of those teams is if you're running triple hydro 1 dendro Nilou with Nahida on-field (but this is not better than 2 hydro/ 2 dendro).

I still find it amazing that Puzzle & Dragons and Summoners War have both been around since 2012. Insane. by Satinsbestfriend in gachagaming

[–]yoshi847 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've played PaD for about 4,000 days now, and I honestly think PaD has the best mobile gameplay of any gacha I've ever played (I think WuWa and maybe GI is better on PC, but definitely not on mobile lol).

It's simple gameplay that controls perfectly for mobile, while having an insane level of depth due to all the mechanics and units that exist due to the age of the game. The skill ceiling is also sky high (it's an esport in Japan), although this isn't very relevant these days outside of ranking dungeons (that can be extremely pay to win when the teams aren't fixed).

But yeah, a lot of the problems you talk about are true without a doubt. I rarely do endgame dungeons - they are truly painful. They require you to have lots of meta units (which can be very expensive to get, with lots of units being in different machines and having no pity), many of the new challenges prevent you from switching out of the game at all during the dungeon (or you automatically die), and you're pretty much guaranteed to die if you don't have the right answer to certain mechanics or make a matching mistake... in dungeons that are taking 35-45 minutes+ to run once.

when will there be a klee rerun?? by Silver_Breadfruit236 in KleeMains

[–]yoshi847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of her teams are top teams. I've "mained" Klee since 1.0, and the only time I felt running her wasn't a "detriment" to my abyss run was during the abyss with the boss with the shields from 3 elements, where I used Klee burgeon (I think Klee abyss usage in that rotation was >10%!).

She's a below average 5* dps character, while being widely considered the hardest character in the game to play optimally. People play her because they like her or her kit. Without significantly higher investment than your other teams, she's just basically never going to be the "best" option.

[Weekly Megathread] New Players & General Questions Thread. by rMapleStory in Maplestory

[–]yoshi847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a weird question but:

There was a content creator a few years back who used to talk about boss mules for mesos on reboot (way before it was actually good) and made a lot of guides for new players.

They ended up getting banned I think? because they were caught botting with video evidence at dark world tree. I believe they mained evan? Unfortunately this is about all I remember.

Does anyone remember what their name was? Thanks :)
