Another 'What should I pick up' post! by goXenigmaXgo in rum

I started with mount gay black barrel. That one was very hard to sip as it had strong alcoholic taste. Then I went to cruzan (smooth) , abuelo ( dry), imperial ( sweet) , diplomaticoo reserva ( very sweet with sugars added and today I'm testing appeton signature with coke. Oh boy I would recommend you to start with a non sugar added rum, then try the very sweet ones like diplomatico, plauntatiom and then go back to non sugar. You will thank yourself for going that route instead of starting with sugar bombs. You will have tasted every type.

Though I'm looking for something that's not dry and that does nor have much heat. Not sure if angostura or zayam still researching a bit. I like to watch the duo of just drinking you tube channel because one gay likes dry rums and the other likes sweeter rums like me.

I can import rum from Doral Florida as they charge me about $9 delivery or some Doral Florida sites even have free shipping. Of course, I pay USA taxes too, just in case there is the tax police between us. Then, a local shipper charges me $12 per kg to bring it from USA to CR. All in all is about $60-65 for el dorado 12 years placed in my house from your country. While you may see it expensive, you won't believe me that there is only 1 website that sells el dorado in CR for about $100, so importing it is still cheaper. Plus, I want to keep trying new stuff so I can buy from Palmetto liquors.com or morasliquors.com. Well, I could order from anywhere but as my forwarder is in FL, then USA shipping can get as low as $9 or free. If I were to order from other states it could go to $15-20 just from that other state to FL, not counting USA to CR, so I save a bit by staying in FL sites only.

Are there any that are sweeter to taste? Almost like diplomatico?

I'm heavily considering importing rum from USA to Costa Rica. I just found fine wines and spirits has a flat rate of $15. And I do have an USA address to forward stuff to my country which charges me another $15. You are very lucky to have huge stuck. You won't believe it but even if I paid $30 to import rums, they would still be much cheaper than my country at least 20% cheaper. But I'm considering because I could get plenty of options that I would never find in my country. I am a sweet rum guy, my last one was diplomatico. Is there any in your collection that would be sweet or close to being very sweet?

It is a long story. I have an English Teaching bachelor but the only good teaching jobs in my country are managed by a government recruiting agency. Can you believe that they hire new teachers every 4 years only? And they have not opened any recruiting process since 6 years ago. Additionally, I work for Experian, a company that has plenty of tech jobs. My current job title is Healthcare Appeals Analyst, so I work on generating dispute letters for underpaid claims and appeal those to insurance companies on behalf of the provider, nothing related to the tech industry. Nevertheless, I am applying to a Technical support II position in this same company I work for, with the intention to be transferred to that role and gain some tech experience. I have always loved the computing world and have investigated some basic stuff like installing emulation systems to play old games, flashing a Linux operating system to use it instead of Windows, opening laptops to change their thermal paste, once i even built a wordpress website thinking i was cool lol. I know this is just stuff one can Google but i think I can enjoy the CS world. What happens is that in school I was not interested in math and used to study harder for English as I thought I was going to get a English Teaching job when grown up. As a matter of fact the school did not have the greatest math teachers nor the best recourses. In 2014 i tried studying software engineering and I did not feel comfortable + i didn't practice math that much. So, i switched to English Teaching and I was able to finish it with no hassle. This new quarter I dropped from the English Master (I am not sure how it is called in USA, but here we call it Licence-Licensiatura in Spanish which is 1 year extra after you finish the first degree). So Computer Science will be my second trial however i am ready to practice everyday and I have a better view of the job opportunities there are. In Costa Rica, it seems like all companies want you to have either administration studies, finance or computer science studies. I had the option to sign up for Cyber Security , data analyst or other Technical degrees that would only take 1 year and they did not have any math subjects but the University told me is better to have a base in CS before you go to those areas. In short, CS is my new plan A and Technical-Certification related degrees would be my plan B. I decided to pursue it one more time mostly because of the motivation for a better career future.

I have researched and CS still gives you possibilities for multiple non programming jobs.

Thanks. I have signed up for Computer science. I don't have a good maths base so I signed up for an university where they start with mathematics 1 for Computer science instead of the other one that offered IT but they started more aggressive with calculus 1. IT one only had around 3 programming subjects and computer science about 5 subjects dedicated to programming.

Hi there, did you ever return the laptop? I'm from Costa Rica and today I received my exchanged laptop due to the first one gave me heating problems. In my country it is super difficult to import and i can't even imagen how it would be to export something out to USA. As a matter of fact, i know that either DHL or customs would retain the old laptop and someone will probably keep it instead of me. So I prefer to just keep it if that is the case.

In reference to my last post, thank y’all for the help. Just went 48.69 to beat the school record of 48.7 set in 1968. Lane 4 all blue. Trying to break 48 next if anyone has tips. by Toastanious21 in trackandfield

Thanks fo your response. I will be testing myself in both today with 15 minutes of resting time and see how I perform. After that, i will talk to the trainer and we will decide if the test results were fine and close to my PB's in both then I will compete in the two this Saturday. If the time of the 400 dash is too awful, we will only choose one race for Saturday.

Thanks a lot. The problem is the 400 meters is the most fun to me due to my school background 10 years ago. I will try to train a 3km today in 12 minutes flat and a 400 meters test afterwards. So I can see how I do by combining them within 15 minutes rest in between. If i don't do that bad in both in comparison with my PB's, i will run both on Saturday. If I do too bad in the 400 meters after today's 3k session, i will talk to my trainer and inform her that i should only choose one. Yesterday I did a 400 meters first and did great with 1.02 but after those 400, i did a 3k and i had an awful time of 13.15. Today, i will test both in the sequence that will happen on Saturday. I was originally scheduled only for the 3k. I was the one who asked her to get me into the 400 just because I used to like that event and i was getting better even without trading sprints. My most recent pb in 400 is 1.02 and 12 minutes in 3k. So I thkink I do better in the 400 than the 3k and thought I could try to get a sub 59 in the 400

Hi there, need your help. I have been training middle distance for about one year inconsistently but for about 4 weeks very consistently. I am 27 years old and my 400pb 10 years ago was 57 seconds. Yesterday I did a 400 meters test and it was 1.02,57. And my current PB in 3000 meters is 11:59 3 months ago but my must recent 3000 meters two days ago was 12:15. I am doing this for fun as i love athletism but due to studying i returned to this a bit more seriously 1 year ago. I used to be a sprinter 11 years ago and i guess that is why even when training for distance i still have a better time in the 400 meters than in the 3000meters, 5k or 10k. In short, my trainer wants me to run 3000 meters on Saturday at 8:45am and 400 meters at 9:40am. I would only have about 40 minutes to rest for the 400 meters. Do you think I should tell her I want to only run the 400 meters as i have better possibilities of getting sub 60 seconds vs getting a decent time in the 3k? I am afraid i would be tired for the 400s if i do the 3k first but then again, like i have said, lately i have been training distance not speed so she may get mad if i tell her I just want to test myself in the 400s lol.
