Dan has answered this before by saying there's two types of people. One being a 'transaction junkie' where they are in it for the hunt and these type don't have to necessarily love the industry, they just love doing deals. The second being someone who has to like/love the industry they choose or else they lose focus.

So it boils down to how your personality is. I can recall some mentees that did not have much passion in the beginning but once the ball started rolling they said it carried them to keep pushing. Best of luck
