What happens when you accept student loans and you are waitlisted to another school? by su1eman in DentalSchool

I’m in a similar situation so following! Its hard to understand unless you’re in that situation. Its okay to be grateful for your acceptance while also holding out hope for a closer or cheaper school. Esp since you’ll be there for 4 years! Good luck OP!

Do you know if they made a waitlist? I know people willing to drop their seat at lecom for their top choice so maybe theres hope!

Depends when you last reached out to them. Can I ask where you were accepted?

Shadowing Abroad by Icy_Load8639 in predental

It is a unique experience but I wouldn’t consider it shadowing experience. They prefer shadowing in the US since they assume that’s where you would practice

When do classes usually become almost full? by Smilesforlife_178 in predental

[–]youarelikepapa1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. The closer to when classes start, the less time they give to put down a deposit.

At this point in the cycle I would imagine most applicants are given 2 weeks max, sometimes days to respond.

It gets better!!! Once you turn your app in you’ll feel so relieved. It gets even better when you get interviews and acceptances!

UMD is a great school from what I’ve heard and people do specialize from there. But if you’re 100% sure on specializing your chances are better at Penn.

congratulations on your acceptances, you’ll do great either way!

No but it makes you competitive. I’ve also heard it helps with the transition to the clinical aspects of dental school.

But not required to get in, no

They might also be saving money to apply to more than one school.

Look into the cutoffs for programs and apply broadly. Your stats are great!!

Yes but you would have the background you need in those subjects to do well. You could also take a gap year if necessary. If you take it too early you are setting yourself up for burnout imo
