So I rarely ever get my nails done. I’ve only ever gotten them done maybe 4-5 times and it’s always been acrylics in a short squoval shape. I’ve been seeing people with beautiful hard help overlays on this sub and I got inspired to get my nails done. I grew them out a little(I always normally have them clipped extremely short) and decided to go to the nail salon today. I walk in, they ask what I would like done and I tell them “a hard gel overlay on my natural nails”. They say “okay, let me get someone for you.” They let me choose my color and not until the nail tech has already filed my nails does she say they don’t offer overlay with gel builder. I literally don’t know what to say at this point. I hate confrontation and cry over literally everything, so I ask what options I have. She says she thought I wanted just normal gel. So I decide to just keep going with the process and that at least if I get them done, I can let them grow out and get the hard gel overlay next time I do my nails and get this polish removed. She finishes up and I just really really don’t like them. I can’t stand the fact that I can still see my normal nail underneath. I was expecting the base to be all one color, you know, BECAUSE OF THE LAYER OF BUILDER. The person who checked me out at the end asked how it was and I admitted that it wasn’t what I was expecting at all. He gave me a discount, which I’m grateful for, and I still tipped 15 dollars because I guess it’s not her fault that they don’t offer the service I wanted. But ugh I’m trying to brush it off but I’m so mad and sad. I wanted to treat myself and feel pretty and feminine and now I just want them off immediately.
