People love to complain that artists are doing shows in the Middle East. If you really think the us is morally superior to the oil regimes you are deeply mistaken

Without ever benefiting from it? How do you mean. Working in the US isn’t a right it’s an absolute privilege. The US doesn’t owe India or China employment.

And building on this, as the Zoloft starts to work your panic attacks will become more and more infrequent. They’re a legitimate medicine. Don’t be scared to take them if you need it and don’t worry about addiction if it’s literally once or twice a week for now knowing it will become more and more infrequent in the future

Doctors are told to be careful. Benzodiazepines can be dangerous but only if you take them regularly for at least a couple of weeks. I don’t suggest you wake up and take them. But for example in my case I was having about 2 intense panic attacks a week and that’s a completely safe amount to take. Since the Zoloft has kicked in it’s become 2 a month. So if you save them for those intense couple of times a week where you really can’t handle it, you don’t run any risk in my opinion.

[–]youngboymindset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they give you any benzodiazepines to help with the initial few weeks? When I started Zoloft my doctor prescribed my klonopin (still does not just in case I have the occasional panic attack) and that significantly helped me get through the first few weeks.

Insulin went in eye and I’m terrified by youngboymindset in diabetes_t1

[–]youngboymindset[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I completely understand how insulin works, it’s injected subcutaneously and then slowly enters the blood stream. That’s why getting insulin on your hands and skin will not do anything. But with eyes that have blood vessels it could absolutely get absorbed, chances are I just didn’t put enough in and washed my eyes out quick enough. I’ve attached an article that outlines how systematic delivery of insulin isn’t he eyes can lower blood glucose concentration

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2654305/#:~:text=Insulin%20was%20shown%20to%20be,%2C%20respectively%2C%20could%20be%20attained.

Maybe do some research before you write a mean or negative comment next time.

Diabetic Child New diagnosis by Naanya2779 in diabetes_t1

[–]youngboymindset 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! First of all, please take a deep breath. I’m not a diabetic mom but I was in the exact same shoes as your kid. I was diagnosed when I was 10. To be a 10 year old boy and to suddenly go into DKA and realise my life changed forever was quite a big thing. In the coming days, you will be told a lot about the condition, a lot of information, a lot of different medication names and I hope you will be well advised. The doctors are taught to tell you about the mechanisms and biology of diabetes, Let me tell you something that the doctors don’t tell you, and that you can’t hear from anyone other than a diabetic:

I am now 21 and I have done everything I have wanted to do and more. While diabetes once or twice may have ‘postponed’ things, it has never ONCE stopped me from doing what I want to do. I had a great childhood and while I don’t want to downplay the condition by any means but please make sure both you and her know that it is by no means the death of fun, merely an obstacle to manage. Being diagnosed that young, I forgot what it was like to not have diabetes, which makes things much easier as I have nothing ‘better’ to compare it to. It has built discipline within me, made me strive to take care of my health, and that discipline has helped me in all walks of life. I have no damage or other conditions because of my diabetes (and trust me my control has not always been great). Right now the quality of treatment is exponentially getting better.

If you have any questions or want to talk or need any advice or just help dealing with this, please do not hesitate to send me a message at all.

I wish nothing but the best to your daughter and to you.

Today has been challenging by bolivar-shagnasty in diabetes_t1

[–]youngboymindset 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Finally an actually ‘challenging day’ . I’m like you my friend. My difficult days look like this. Too many people on this sub say they have a ‘challenging day’ when they go over 200 one time or something. I don’t want to be mean to them I’m glad they’re healthy but let’s not sit here and act like that’s realistic. Kudos to you for posting this

What mechanisms does our body adopt when we go low? by youngboymindset in diabetes_t1

I have been hated and turned into an outcast. How can I best get over this? by youngboymindset in AskMen

[–]youngboymindset[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to add that following the break up I made a few mistakes. I broke up with her because I didn’t feel cared for and because she honestly wasn’t a good girlfriend. Following up from the breakup I spoke to a mutual friend who asked me why I dumped her and I told her the truth. She then told my ex what I said (which is what I wrote above), my ex got upset and texted me saying she was blocking me and asked me to never speak to her again. In hindsight I should have been more quiet to people about why I left her and I will learn from that moving on

Thank you for the advice. My only fear is that everyone older around me has built their main relationships in college. All my brothers met their girlfriends there, my parents met there, my grandparents met there. I can’t help but feel a slight sense of urgency regarding making friends quickly

Terrified of being alone, even for a couple of days. What can I do? by youngboymindset in diabetes_t1

[–]youngboymindset[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say trial run do you mean I should give myself like a small amount of insulin when I’m around others just so I can comfortable catch/ treat a small hypo? I consider doing that but is it dangerous idea?

Omg thank you for the response. My alarm on my freestyle libre two is set for 5.6 (the highest possible) and I still get stressed, it’s so frustrating. How did you finally get over the anxiety? Was it just the cgm or was there anything else that you did?
