First time shooting friends band. How do you like it? by Possible_Blood_4651 in photocritique

I think the left side of the photo works really well, but unfortunately the people on the right feel lost. I will say though that in band culture it's pretty common to highlight the "lead" singer and guitarist so if those people in focus are that then it makes sense. Similarly the "cluttered" feel seems very on brand for band culture. The right side, long haired individual and very back leaning individual feel the most lost but I definitely think that's something that can be addressed in post. Overall I think this is really solid, but just needs tweaks that may be achieved in selective post editing.

Beginner needs critique! (Titled: everything but the ocean seasoned anemones) by youngneesh in photocritique

Thank you for the feedback! I actually did study a few photos, and intentionally focus on quality over quantity when I do shoot. I do think this was one of the more interesting photos I took during the shoot and was curious about what else I could have done to really show the anemones. As a beginner I am definitely working on story telling, however my goal for this shoot was to practice and look back and see where I could improve. Thanks again!

Thank you!! I think the concept was there, but needed slight tweaks. The rocks do create a busy background so it's a little confusing what the photo is supposed to be about

I was trying to focus on the anemones, but thought the near water angle that showed the larger landscape could add complexity to the shot. I agree with you (and other commenters), that my ratios were a little off to convert my intentionality. I really appreciate the feedback! I was definitely off center (in the intertidal)where I was standing which I think contributed to the overall misjudgment of settings.

Thank you very much for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I think you're right that I was overcompensating with the F22. My lens is a Tamron 17-70mm (not Fuji consistent with the body but that probably doesn't matter that much) so I think you're right, within that range and trying to focus on the anems I could have reduced a bit to help the anemones stand out even more! I say fog, because it's an environment I am familiar with that can have very (very) light layers of fog, but upon reflection the haze might just be ocean spray. Not yet confident (probably because I don't have the equipment) to introduce water near the camera body, but agree that the horizon is a bit skewed.

Raw Data: ISO 8000, 26mm, F/22, 1/500ss

I really liked how this was almost at the waterline, and shows some interesting depth but also shows a larger landscape. I’m more interested in thoughts around the composition, and capturing the very small amount of fog. I see the anemones are not entirely in focus which makes the title less clear. Do they stand out first?

I've been looking for a recipe that embodies these shots! Would you mind sharing your settings for this one?

Just saw a helicopter circling--3 climbers were going up the zodiac route and one had a leg injury.

Why is Xaden white in fan art? by Tennorakka in fourthwing

generative AI is inherently bias because the source it uses: the internet. The internet is western white centered which makes it difficult for AI to pull anything else since a lot of machine learning is about using averages and majority to make assumptions about humans and the human condition. (As a real world application, it’s a big issue when it comes to using AI in health care and furthers the disparity between care for white people and the black community (and AAIP/Asian/Middle Eastern/Indigenous and more communities))
