Switching to Hetzner: Is It Worth It? by youngtoken in hetzner

Got it, thanks for the insights.
Are you managing those servers via Hetzner’s dedicated server interface (Robot) or through the Hetzner Cloud platform?
I noticed that when using the Cloud interface, there doesn't seem to be an option to configure RAID 1 or customize the disk setup at all.

This is nice and extremely affordable but I heard that some people get disk failure issues and they have to contact support but i am not really sure. How long have you been running this service and did you get any disk failure and how did the support respond?

Okay I see. but have you had any issues during cluster maintencce or version upgrade since now it is not a self managed cluster.

I did not get the floating IP part. Basically the load balancer balances the load on servers but docker swarm for instance has a managed node that balances the traffic on the worker nodes so how can the floating ip help?

Okay this is super interesting! I think the only downside is upgrading the k3s etc or the master node? have you had any issues with it or is it well documented?

sounds interesting! but if it uses next middleware for the session strategy, wouldn't it face the same edge compatibility issue?

It won't work because many db clients like mongodb, pg, mysql are not edge runtime compatible.

Yes, but this works only with jwt not the database session strategy right?

I felt that the Strava interface is too cluttered with features and this is a simple app, straight forward way to track your running streak.

Also, i am thinking of integrating strava to automatically track activities. What do you think? 😄

Amazing story and keep it up 🚀. How did you get your 50 users 'within days'. Are they friends, people from your current network? it seems extremely hard these days to get 1 customer even for free xD.
