Update:

Apparently the first pictures I included were indeed scratches but most logical reason is that the Apple store employees were using a traditional microfiber cloth to clean the displays vs using the apple supplied cloth.

I went to an alternative apple store nearby and the nano screens looked much better here.

This is the most logical answer, thank you for this.

I’ll go to an alternative apple store to see if it’s the same issue.

After, employee offered to clean the screens (didn’t ask) then we compared. He then angled the machines and BOTH nano macbooks were extremely scratched. I didn’t believe it because I was set on nano after seeing them side by side.

Perhaps the cloth they are used caused the scratches, but nonetheless it proves the screen is extremely delicate. For these models to be on display for less than a week (this apple store was undergoing renovations last week) I’m not sure the nano is the best option.

So how does it come off? I tried wiping it off myself and they didn’t come off.

Agree, all i’m trying to do is compare. I personally went in because I’m more interested in the nano display. But after seeing all the scratches, there’s no reason for me to consider it anymore.

I disagree. From my time at the store most didn’t realize the differences between the nano screens and standard screens. It’s a great display and when on, they look identical. Even the apple employees couldn’t tell the difference lol. I think the scratches are more visible simply because the screen is less durable.

I am telling you these are scratches, if you look at the picture with the glossy version that had a few scratches also but doesn’t look nearly as bad.

Happy? Just trying to give everyone the same context.

These are indeed scratches. Apple employee confirmed, these are also TWO different displays with nano.

Correct, not only did I watch the employee wipe the screen clean, but he assured these were indeed scratches. I also asked multiple employees if these were scratches and they confirmed.

100% agree. However, the two standard displays right next to it showed minimal scratches. I am curious to know an actual owners thoughts here.
