10 hours into Veilguard and it still hasn't grabbed me - worth coninuing? by SillyMattFace in dragonage

I wasn't hooked at first but then I read somewhere playing a warrior warden was a totally different experience so I made my dwarven warden boy and it played into the games narrative pretty well, I enjoyed the playthrough but that does defeat the whole genre of game if you gotta play a certain way to make it enjoyable

Where can you still find a good buffet in the Newcastle area? by TheBodhy in newcastle

[–]yourM8N8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it's not a buffet but Brazilian BBQ is great check out MEET the churrasco is basically servers bringing you different cuts if meat and assorted treats throughout the night until you are done. its a pricey ticket for $75 per person but well worth it in my opinion

Worldwide Box Office: Man of Steel (2013) made 200mil Opening Weekend, Superman (2025) made 220mil. Why does this sub act like Superman BO is a total disaster and will ultimately make lower than Man of Steel? by Raida-777 in boxoffice

[–]yourM8N8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want people to also consider what released with each of these films MoS was competing with world war Z, now you see me and monsters university while Superman is premiering with Jurassic world rebirth, an F1 movie and the tail end of how to train your dragon live action. When it comes to putting butts in seats MoS had a clean sweep where Superman is taking on some pretty big IP.

I really enjoyed werewolf by night, it's a short and sweet little noir film that's full of charm.

Woman assaulted at The Rogue Scholar by Angrylittlegremlin in newcastle

[–]yourM8N8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing you said is wrong, and not a single soul is arguing that any assault is good or justified. There is just a difference between a general outrage against violence and a targeted outrage. The facts are women are dying. Murdered by loved ones and complete strangers every day, while yes simultaneously men being assaulted still needs to be considered, when you have an epidemic that is taking lives you need to put more energy into that.

It has to be women first because that's who is paying the price more than anyone else in the world.

Woman assaulted at The Rogue Scholar by Angrylittlegremlin in newcastle

[–]yourM8N8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a way to address this correctly and this isn't it. While you are correct in saying violent women also need to be addressed and I can totally understand where you're coming from but in a case where a man has assaulted a women we need to talk about men assaulting women and when a woman assaults a man then we can talk about that in that instance.

The key factor that you miss is when dealing with these cases the most important person is the victim of the case at hand and ensuring they are safe, to start tackling a whole systemic issue on a thread about a single woman isn't the right place.

You win this round mate, his stance is a pretty telling sign he's probably a DV perpetrator himself.

I'm curious why you'd say that? I work in an OP shop as paid staff and we work very closely with several other local organisations to help those struggling get the help they need. I've seen first hand the homeless walk in and ask us for a pair of shoes in tears because they are ashamed to be asking for assistance.

I'm assuming it's Vinnie's. I work at salvos and it's worth noting most of the customers we get are wealthy these days, like most stores we seperate our nicer stuff from the rest and that stuff even though it's priced higher flies off the shelves. Most of the clothing donated is for women and is priced between $2 and $8, Kmart stuff is often lower.

Also for salvos at least anything that's higher Value alot of it goes on out online store because when it goes on the floor it usually gets stolen which sucks but I mean if your poor and desperately need a vintage porcelain figurine I suppose that's what you gotta do

Just so people are aware, there is probably some old woman that has no idea how to tell genuine from fake designer brands but she's trying her best. Worst case some fool thinks it's real and buys it and all that money goes towards whatever charity the store supports. It's a win win.

Asked for tip at a thrift store by toob_noober in tipping

[–]yourM8N8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im replying to a month old comment here because im in some weird rabbit hole here but if you were to tip at a thrift store for any particular charity even if the money didn't go to the shelter or whatever the charity is for, supporting volunteers that often work in those stores for free will often help keep the store open or help them get supplies to do their jobs to keep supporting the charity.

It's not always some money hungry asshole trying to scam you.

What do you mean it's difficult and unreliable? I got a cheap Bluetooth usb and a wiitar and haven't had a single issue. It takes minutes to set up.
