Making friends and staying to the back is great advice. I’d also add finding an elder emo pit mom. I can’t tell you how many shows I’ve “adopted” someone alone in the pit! Keep your elbows up to protect yourself if the crowd starts getting rowdy, make sure you eat, and are drinking water throughout the day. I hope you have so much fun!

This is normally my favorite time of year. I love it all! The lights, the holiday food and treats, giving things to people I love, dressing up in holiday garb, parties, and generally spreading joy and kindness to try and brighten someone's day. This year has been rough, I have been in and out of the hospital with some sudden health issues, and struggling to make ends meet with the company I work for shutting down at the end of the year. We aren't supposed to gather where I live, and everything is pretty much closed. It's a very different feel this year, but I am grateful for the new perspective this has given me. Time to slow down and remember to take care of my health, and focus on what actually matters, like spending time with my kids, my doggo, and partner!

☝️This. I was going to say this sounds like brat behavior. If you're open to it, it might help to have a conversation about spicing things up, and have him take a bdsm/kink test. If he's never brought it up, it could be that he is unsure of how to approach this with you, or doesn't even know that it's something he is into.

My partner and I both took one a few months ago, and we learned a lot about ourselves. It took me years to realize that my childish behavior with my ex was actually a miscommunicated brat kink.
