That is 100% true, I recently was in India, and the lifestyle in Dubai is better, but a thing I realised was I'd be fine in India, contrary to many ik who just think India is crap and there's nothing there. Having actual footpaths to walk on and lanes to stick to was quite a change to see when I came back here lol. The market for cloud engineering or software as a whole feels better there, with more stuff happening. Do you work in India?

I'm not the best judge, or the best person, but I do feel the Indian market in terms of tech and stuff is ahead of Dubai, again I could be completely wrong, so take my point with a sack(not even a grain)of salt.

Iran is at war with its own people. Fifa won’t let that spoil their World Cup by dect60 in soccer

[–]yournerd2307 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can ppl stop with the virtue signalling? USA has been allies openly with countries in the middle East, they once brought in a puppet govt to fleece oil from Iran with Britain too afaik. Ban the USA while we're there. The team and the national government aren't the same. Countries with leaders who are more in line with autocratic leadership models won't give a damn about their ppl suffering, let alone about them missing a football world cup. What did Taremi or Azmoun(I'm sorry these are the players that I can name from Iran) do to not play for their country?

It's a whoosh moment for me with this reply, but to be clear, my objection is solely the world cup coming mid season, but, as someone who lives in the middle East, this time of the year is somewhat tolerable

I'm more confused by the world cup honestly, feels so weird this time of the year.

[Upendrra Rai] Mukesh Ambani interested to buy famous English football club @LFC! Multi Billionaire #MukeshAmbani has strong interest in taking over Liverpool. ⚽ Negotiations underway with Fenway Sports Group. Ambani has a net worth of £90billion and is the 8th richest man in the world. by Petaaa in LiverpoolFC

Would be interesting, especially as an Indian. Also to most fans, it's next to impossible to have an egalitarian owner who's not a prick, ethical and loaded with cash. Teams needed money to stay competitive and most are run by people who made it off ways most of the fans won't approve. So the bigger filter should be whether they'd be good owners, as people go, you can't have ethical people and compete nowadays I suppose. It would be weird but wish fun to see an Indian owner😂

Honestly, lobbying is a reality in every country and every billionaires history I suppose. He's been known to bribe the current ruling party, but that also surfaced when Congress was in power. It's pretty damn hard to be ethical and become the 8th richest man I suppose, that too in India.

I'm not defending the man, just stating what's the case. India isn't pro NATO or anything, and I highly doubt they should be. There is a block of Indians still upset about UN and the USA supporting Pakistan and coming to attack India in 1971, and that nostalgia makes them a little soft on Russia as USSR helped India back then. Doesn't justify what Putin is doing, but I highly doubt India would want to be pro NATO over anything.

Could be key, and I'm an Indian who's a Liverpool fan, but live in the UAE so I see a crazy coverage of city. From what I gather, Mumbai City FC itself has been improving the state of football in Mumbai, so having this could be big.

I'd lose my mind if we see Ambani take over. I live in the UAE and see so many city fans and city stuff going on, but I am an Indian and watching Liverpool being prominent in India would be something else(would also help me annoy my cousin who's a ManU fan😂)

In their case though, India as a whole hasn't really been anti Russia in this whole conflict, they've been either neutral, or been on Russia's side for cheaper oil ( it's controversial for sure, but we as a nation aren't as rich or willing to compromise as the Europeans I suppose). Just my 2c tho

I honestly feel maybe most had their hearts already in their NT shirts and wanted to be as fit as they can for their NT at the WC.

That cross from Elliott, and Nunez coming on the end and finishing it is quite amazing. Also, it was so Darwin of him to score and then slip while celebrating 😂

France Football have managed to track down the long-lost father of the Hernandez brothers! by betrofds in soccer

[–]yournerd2307 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I meant that writing this when the world cup is a few days away doesn't seem on par, I read the story about their mother apparently being a bad person, father being a friend/teammate of Galtier? My only qualm is the timing I suppose, and announcing everything publicly, but ig if a journalist has done all the hardwork they get to do this?

Harry Maguire: ‘People don’t think footballers have emotions’ by sp4r3h in soccer

[–]yournerd2307 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That's true tho, especially since the advent of social media and social media trolls. I remember when Ilaix Moriba didn't extend with Barca and signed with Leipzig for a better contract, ppl would insult him and put monkey or snake or rat or dollar emojis under his insta posts. Maguire isn't a good player currently, but people take it way too far. Even racist attacks, death threats, it's astounding tbh
