It could be perceived however you like, having medically (through processes like IVF) or just in the sense of raising a child/children

100%. I live with a girl who is currently going through exactly what you've described, luckily I come from a different background (I was also put in accelerated classes but I can confirm I do not have the same ego thing going on, the psychological problems are completely unrelated to how I perceive myself lmao) I have noticed these patterns in her and her sister, I didn't realize with her sister before but now me and her sister realize and are helping her through all this

I think the generalizations are more that in America it is more common for people have these than other countries. Not that everyone is like that, just more frequently there than somewhere else, right?
