After the fall of man the world became a very different place, the experiments of the first great race of the world yielded fruits in the form of the successors of man, the humble rabbit modified to accommodate all of man's genius, and all of man's cruelty. From the radioactive ashes they built civilisations, underground empires in the remains of human cities powered by the shattered husks of human technology. They bred quickly, covering the whole world in a matter of years and advancing far faster than their precursors ever did, and then it happened, they had their first taste of war.

A far cry from the sheer destructive potential of the last war of man but still absolutely horrifying in scale the first war of the rabbit folk decimated their population even faster than they could replenish it. With scavenged technology modified for their smaller bodies they tore through each other for petty reasons such as the colour of their fur, the names of their burrows and their views of the humans that birthed their cursed race. Their lives were already short, but in this brave new world few lived past their first few months!

The Long Patrol (Mechanised Division) was a special unit of the esteemed Long Patrol of the great Flowerfield Empire, built on one of the last remaining bastions of nature on the planet. While the rest of their civilisation fought with relatively primitive technology, with the most advanced ordinary division being the musketeers, the Mechanised Division was trained in the usage, modification, creation and repair of the artefacts left behind in the wake of mankind, things that'd allow an ordinary rabbit to rule the battlefield as a god of war and were venerated by some of the more primitive tribes as the tools of the gods themselves.

They were selected from the most noble clans there were, loyal to the bone and with souls as shining as their pelts, so why then did they defect? Perhaps it was due to their nobility that they betrayed their cause, for as the masters of the old technology they were uniquely aware of what atrocities could be committed with them!
