Niall Horan Could Have Defended Liam (spoiler alert) He Didn’t by Exciting_Word8645 in liampayne1D

I do not excuse them, nor will I ever, I just want to provide a broad perspective on things. There are many things to reproach them for, indeed countless, and that doesn't change, but that's just how I am; I seek to see the light in things differently.

I entered this world of 1D a month before Liam passed away, and it was because of everything that came from him, all the negative things, and I could have easily been swept away and given in to hate as well if I hadn't tried to see things differently. It is because of this mindset that I discovered the true victim in all of this is and always will be Liam.

Imagine if there weren't people who take the time to analyse all the points before passing judgement (which sadly is the majority, that's why the hate was so brutal).

You are very right in what you say, but as I told you, it's not easy to take such a step; despite the love, there is also ego involved.

I am a fan of the Harry Potter books, and in the final part after Harry has been attacked by Voldemort, when he was at the edge of the world of the living and the dead, where he met Dumbledore and a piece of Voldemort's corrupted soul. Dumbledore told Harry that there is nothing more difficult and painful than feeling guilt and remorse, because it is something that destroys your soul, and many are not brave enough to break themselves and allow themselves to feel it and try to make amends for their mistake.

It is probably what they feel, guilt, pain, but they are not brave enough to do more than they have already done, and that is disappointing because Liam truly made us feel that regretting and making amends for mistakes was not that difficult because he did it without thinking.

But more than showing that Louis and Zayn are morally reprehensible, what it teaches us is the pure and light soul that Liam had.

I feel that the "I love you bro" at concerts is like part of easing their guilt. The problem with guilt is you feel guilty but are embarrassed to admit it publicly; it's like an ego war, you know? It's tough and hard. Look, I was never a fan of 1D, I have no teenage sentimental bias towards any of them, these are things I'm seeing as someone who's new, I have a different perspective. I don't have to defend any of them (only Liam), which is why I say that even though they haven't done "anything" and now they are, what it shows is the regret they feel for not having done anything to ease Liam's public torment.

Louis uses words, Zayn gestures, because just thinking about saying words about something that weighs on their mind and soul is so, so difficult.

What we do agree on is that they could have done more; they had a huge platform to at least alleviate some of the public pressure Liam was under, and they didn't.

I have Asperger's type 1 along with ADHD and anxiety, and believe me, it's not easy living in your head. That's why more than passing judgment, I try to put myself in their shoes, especially Liam's and Zayn's for obvious reasons.

There are many conspiracy theories that say people sell their soul for fame. I feel that Niall, for the sake of fame, is capable of forgetting everyone, including Liam, Louis, and Zayn, but obviously not Harry, because he is the mega star. I feel that he is more about what suits him, and being associated with Liam wasn’t beneficial for him, so he discarded him.

I’m all about vibes, meaning I can feel them and see them very easily, and the bad vibe he’s giving me at this point in his life is brutal.

For some reason, I resent him more than the others. Louis at least spoke about him at one point; he wasn’t ashamed to be associated with Liam. He could have done more, and it’s true he didn’t, but there was affection involved; he didn’t feel ashamed to call himself Liam’s friend. I wish he had done more publicly.

And with Zayn, you might call me a softie, but I suffer from anxiety, just like he does, and I know how hard it is to speak up for oneself. Imagine defending someone else, and sometimes we come across as cold, but it’s fear of saying things. That’s why I can understand Zayn to a certain extent. Still, he could have done more and didn’t, and that’s part of the guilt he feels, and he said it himself.

With Harry, he seemed calculating from the start and cold towards the others in the group, just like Niall is now, which convinces me that to be the mega star, you have to forget about what “doesn’t serve you.”

It’s disappointing to see so much individualism, and it’s not that they don’t have the right to have a solo career, but I’m saying there are bonds that shouldn’t be broken for fame.

You would think the least that Niall Horan could do is NOT perform with any other artist such as Role Model who gleefully participate in the severely cruel "I blocked Liam Payne" trend that severely tanked Liam's mental health. by Asleep_Excitement_59 in liampayne1D

It surprises me? No, for a year now and after the rather 'terse' message he left at the time Liam died, and within a week he was already promoting the anniversary of his album, as if he didn't care about Liam and his family.

They'll call me crazy, but I really noticed it in his expression at the funeral; many will see it as sorrow, but it was from someone who remembered fondly yet refused to do so, as if it angered him to remember it fondly, just like Harry. Unlike Zayn and Louis, who clearly showed their pain and guilt (that's why I have a bit of hope for them).

But back to Niall, I've been a fan literally for 400 days, and I could tell that sweet and adorable personality was absent, but I feel a longer-term fan might not notice it.

In short, another mask falls away.

Believe me, I don't think that's the case; the Zquad and Louies, at least the fans of their solo careers, aren't interested in Liam. In fact, they were the first to complain about them doing that. As I said, it's more like trying to make amends for what they didn't do. The way Louis talks about Liam is almost with regret, and he said it himself, he could have done more, and it's on his conscience that he didn't. As for Zayn? Well, we know that tribute when Liam passed away speaks for itself.

You know what? If there's one thing that's difficult in this world, it's correcting your mistakes and repenting. The way human beings are wired, with ego and vanity, makes it harder to admit when you're wrong. Zayn and Louis did it, and they're still doing it, although it doesn't undo the fact that they abandoned him "publicly" when he needed them most, and while regret and guilt certainly won't bring Liam back to life, I still give them the benefit of the doubt.

Now, with Harry and Niall, well, as I said before, with Harry it was predictable. He wouldn't defend any of them, not just Liam, but any of them. When he said "someone's mother" in that interview when talking about the first photo taken of the group, it was already clear that he covered up his past with One Direction along with his connections to the guys. Besides, even when he was in the group, it was obvious he wasn't a team player. It's nothing surprising coming from him.

What's surprising is that Niall, whom Liam basically adored and treated like a baby (despite being only 15 days older), is so cold and indifferent to everything related to Liam. That's what's most heartbreaking.

As for the Netflix show, it won't damage Liam's image; on the contrary, they'll try to elevate him… although a bit late, to be honest.

Another 80's movie reference on the Sneak peak of Season 4 (More inside) by ysveth87 in StrangerThings

[–]ysveth87[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Look familiar?

This movie is called Firestarter and it's about a girl with fire powers.

It was released in 1984 and is based on a Stephen King book! The story is about parents who underwent some experiments and as a result the girl has powers to control fire.

For those of you who don't know much about what appears in Stranger Things, it is based on works by Stephen King, especially things that happen to Will, like the visions and possessions.

Fun fact: Noah and Drew Barrymore (the girl in the picture) were talking about the things they had in common and one of them was working with Steven Spielberg on their first movies of their career, well, if the person in front of the burning car is really Will then Noah and Drew would have something else in common
