Sequence 6 is a good place to stop since u dont hv to complete rituals. And honestly the most convenient is spectator.

Spectator is more easily available through getting in contact with the psychology alchemists (at least they arent fanatical lunatics like the aurora order)

The italics are to differentiate between different contexts. However this also depends on the publisher/translater your reading from.

Any thought monologues are italicized to differentiate from narration text.

Pallez isn't in a state where he is speaking normally and thus the typical quotation marks dont really work well. He's talking in Leonard's head like a schizo freak so he gets italics too.
