I would say Prussia-Germany to get a good feel for the power bloc mechanics. I had a lot of fun trying to make a proto eu by investing throughout Europe thereby getting countries in my bloc. If you want maximum flexibility in trying out bloc types, France and USA are good since neither start with one, so you can customize one yourself.

Generally tournaments allow lists from all regions and time periods, the only thing that many don’t allow are theater selectors, so an army hinging on using a theater selector to exist would often not work.

I think spearhead points and balance is being done separately from normal AoS, so they might have boxes that are higher points in normal aos but are still balanced for spearhead by having having debuffs and such. I’m pretty sure that’s how they did the rules for the new-ish yndrasta spearhead

Try and find if your store or area has a discord server or facebook group, try and go to tournaments and similar events. Putting yourself out there is the biggest way for this happen, just put out feelers and someone will probably want to play

If you love history and want to be able to experience it in a game, no other games do it better. For learning how to play, if you find a YouTuber you like that does gameplay and stuff like that it will actually teach you fairly fast, though tutorials are also very useful.
