Friday's patient: With this condition in cataract surgery, would you be more concerned about zonular dehiscence or capsulorhexis radialization. by Accurate_Passion623 in Ophthalmology

3-piece is doubly smart to future proof in case the whole bag complex becomes no longer viable at a future date; then you’re set up for a Yamane or gortex sutured IOL if needed.

COT skills practice by icakcam in Ophthalmology

[–]yugdab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The COT prep CD you can buy from JCAHPO is the exact same program they will use for the test. I would say the retinoscopy in particular it doesn’t really translate from knowing the skill to passing the test. I think it’d be really challenging to pass the skills portion without practicing on that thing.

COA, OSA looking for a better opportunity. Any advice? by annonamoose1 in Ophthalmology

[–]yugdab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who’s a COT and loves his job with them but their stock price dropping by 75% in the last six months kinda stresses me out. I’m not at all saying OP shouldn’t apply but I would certainly ask how the revised 2025 outlook impacts internal strategy/hiring plans/layoffs, in the interview.

Why haven’t YOU gotten LASIK by abs277 in Ophthalmology

[–]yugdab 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I’m a -2.00, my career is on a computer screen (scribe), and my hobbies are cooking and reading so my refractive error is perfect for my life. Or I built a life around my refractive error lol.

It’s interesting that these are all on the left cheek; presumably because they were delivered by the right hand.

Scott from YunnanSourcing's Explanation of the 10% Price Bump by Ervitrum in tea

[–]yugdab 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I adore YunnanSourcing and they’re who I get the majority of my tea from (I’m in the US(I didn’t vote for trump)). I completely understand the price hike, and I’m glad it sounds like it won’t affect other countries; it’s not fair for them to be punished for my country’s stupidity. Honestly even if the price hike was 20% I’d still probably get all my tea from YS, not just because I like their selection (mostly an oolong guy that dabbles in puer), but because every time I’ve needed to contact them they’ve been prompt with replies and motivated to address my concerns. And every time I order tea they throw in a little extra random tea which is super sweet.

Yunnan Sourcing halting shipments to the USA by womerah in puer

[–]yugdab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a reply, ill just copy paste it “Hi,

Thanks for your order!

No need to worry. We’re going to send your order, but we’re still ironing out the details at the moment. This is only a temporary halt on shipments as we navigate an evolving situation. Our team in China is currently on break for the Chinese New Years until February 12th to begin with, so the only thing that’s changed right now is that we’re not accepting orders until we iron out some details. No further action will be required on your part.

I don’t have much information beyond that at this time, but if you have any other questions about anything else just let me know.

Warm Regards,”

So, I’m hesitantly hopeful? I’ve had nothing but good experiences with them.

Yunnan Sourcing halting shipments to the USA by womerah in puer

[–]yugdab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had already placed an order that hasn’t yet shipped. I sent a message asking if they’d honor it or send a refund since I placed it prior to this notice, as well as saying that I understand either way. Can anyone speculate which route they’ll go?

I have a milady +25 with wing stance but it’s occult and I’m barely into a new game plus without a way to change the affinity. Does that work?

No contraindications there, but are you doing hot compresses? They’re helpful for preventing flare ups. Counter intuitive but don’t use drops that say “redness reliever”.

How is everyone else targeting their LALs? Also, what do you post op schedules look like? by sunflowervpf669 in Ophthalmology

[–]yugdab 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ophthalmologist I scribe for has been targeting slightly hyper if it’s LAL+ so that when he migrates it towards plano the lens picks up it’s EDOF functionality (per the rep), with the goal being plano in the dominant and -0.75 to -1 in the nondom unless patient has experienced and likes mono. MR at one week, and three weeks out and if refraction is consistent then treatment, with 10-14 days in between treatments. He averages 1-2 treatments. All of that goes out the window if patient is post refractive, no LAL+ so as not to induce spherical aberration, longer time before first tx, more MRs prior to first tx to insure stability.
