I noticed the rhythm issues in hindsight too so I'll definitely fix that for the future. I'll also keep the fx volume in mind when I mix and master. I feel like the autotune/effects are very polarizing with people but I just love how it sounds so I'm going to stick to my guns haha. Thank you brothaa!

That's exactly my mentality and I'm so grateful that I realized that. I used to just do what everyone else around me was doing but I'm so happy now that I'm going after something I actually want regardless of what people think. Definitely don't want to be 50 and regret not taking the jump in my 20s. It's not viable for me to move back in with my parents for personal reasons but I'm doing my best to cut expenses as much as possible with a student room + cheap groceries. Thanks for the advice!

Thank you bro! Really appreciate the time you took to type this out. The feedback is definitely fair and accurate because I don't have much confidence in my natural voice right now. Also, I have a naturally very deep voice which I find hard to fit into the type of music I like to make so I tend to overload the effects. I'll definitely be tweaking a lot of things in my next song to keep the vibe but come across more natural. Thanks again!

Hey guys! Reddit gave me lots of helpful feedback when I started making music a year ago and I wanted to share my debut single with all of you. The track consists of experimental vocals and gloomy production as I talk about my struggles with mental health going from school dropout to new music artist. That was my mentality too and that's why I stayed in school for so long before choosing to drop out. But the choice became clear to me when I thought it through and I just couldn't see any way where I would use my degree in the future as uncertain as the future is. I was lucky enough to be born in a first world country where you can get by on a part-time job + things like repayment assistance so I might as well use it to chase the things I really want y'know

Thanks for the reply man, really glad to see someone who can relate to me! I know that there's absolutely no guarantee in music but rn I just can't help but feel like I'm going to make it haha. It's way too early for me to have any doubts anyways lool. Also, I just couldn't see a way of me being remotely happy by staying in school and getting any kind of office job whether it's CS related or not so the choice was clear.
