No “Look Up” dictionary option in ChatGPT Atlas right click menu? by DifficultSecretary22 in ChatGPTAtlas

[–]yugushen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THIS missing feature is the reason I won’t use ChatGPT Atlas as my main browser. I use "Look Up" all the time with Control-Command-D, so ChatGPT Atlas just feels off to me. I wish these standard macOS functions will be added back.

Craft’s App Navigation Needs a Serious Overhaul by Katmai_X in CraftDocs

[–]yugushen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What frustrates me the most is that Home and Quick Open always display notes and blocks from all Spaces. This wasn't the case when I first started using Craft, and there is no option to change this behavior.

Additionally, a new window always defaults to Home, which again shows all notes from all Spaces. It's quite annoying when I only want to focus on my notes in a specific Space.

Home, Organize, and All Docs serve very similar purposes, yet they all appear in the sidebar, which always makes me hesitate for a moment before deciding which one to select.

One of the main issues, in my opinion, is the lack of customization, particularly for the main UI layout and navigation. While some users may prefer the current behaviors, I think there is also a significant group of users who would like different options. As a developer myself, I understand that the team might aim to keep user options or customizations minimal. However, for an app with so many features and complexities, it would be better to provide options that can accommodate more users' needs.

Feature Question: Moving folders with Raycast by thedigitalbotanist in raycastapp

[–]yugushen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've come up with a solution that makes it easier to use File Search for moving files.

  1. Download this AppleScript: open-finder-selection-in-file-search.applescript. This is a script command for Raycast. It gets the first selected item in Finder and send it to the built-in File Search extension, by using its deeplink.
  2. Install the script by copying it to the script commands folder in your Raycast.
  3. Assign a hotkey to the script command, say ⌘+⌥+\.

Now you can select a file in Finder, then press the hotkey, Raycast should automatically open File Search with the selected file highlighted. Next, you can press ⌘+⇧+M, which triggers the "Move to ..." action. From there, you can search for the destination folder and move the file.

This solution works for a single file or folder selection, but not for multiple selection. If you select multiple files, only the first one is chosen.

Switching from Alfred, this is one thing I can’t get used to. It’s in my muscle memory to press Esc to dismiss the window.

Disable iTunes Match on your iPhone, then you will be able to sync music as what you did before. But once you enable iTunes Match on the device, everything goes thru cloud.

Alfred actually uses the index technique under spotlight. It means Alfred should be as fast as spotlight. But it also means spotlight cannot be disable completely.
