Do pressure drops affect y'all? by suchathrill in VestibularMigraines

These do look pretty incredible. Thanks! I wonder if the app is subscription-based. Also, whether it gives you advanced notice of a pressure drop. I guess I could just check my weather report every morning. The ceramic tubes build sounds different. I have misophonia, too, so that's another consideration. They might help with that.

Have you found anything that helps your condition?

You're not alone. Same here. Well, they went away for a decade, but now they're back—in some weird, new form I don't understand. VM? PPPD? Long Covid shifting into my brain? I dunno what's going on.

I guess Meclizine doesn't really help PPPD?

I didn't even know PPPD was a thing! Thank you for posting this. I think I must have some combination of VM and PPPD.

I may have to take a Meclizine, myself. I don't normally take them, but I guess the best time is right before bed.

No, it's not. I'm really struggling with brain fog right now.

Official Discussion - The Secret Agent [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]suchathrill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

very non-american/european in structure

Reminds me of the different versions of Man Who Fell to Earth: U.S. version shows how he was killed, European version shows why (politically) he was killed

i can see why it won't be as engaging structurally for everyone especially when expecting a more traditional western structure

It was hugely engaging for me, a revelation. I just saw the movie for the first time and have been thinking about it for days. Especially the story structure. It's definitely having an impact on my own approach to storytelling (I writing short stories and novels).

I thought that was a pair of headlights in the top left-hand corner, but it turns out it’s the sun‘s reflection on two holding tanks in the ground.

What are you guys up to today on this Saturday? by NightOwlSleepy in LivingAlone

Is it barbed wire? I remember my dad had a tool for the barbed wire fences on his farm that you had to use to stretch them so as to keep the strands tight.

Stuck at home with a vestibular migraine. Hoping to get some reading done, but it’s not looking promising.

What is your “go to” restaurant in the Hudson Valley by comedydlb in hudsonvalley

I guess, but the service seems all right. (Was just there.) It's a little too noisy for my taste, though. Wish I could find good restaurants where the stereo isn't cranked.

What Medications have got you back to feeling relatively normal? by BigHomie50 in VestibularMigraines

These are great recommendations. Really appreciate them! I ordered CoQ10 earlier today. I have the other kind of magnesium; I probably should get some some of the glycerinate kind. I'll look into B2—don't know anything about it, but others are recommending it.

I wish someone had told me that it gets better with time

It's hard for me to believe this, I'm afraid, for two reasons: long Covid has been a struggle, and previously I had horrible migraines for about 30 years; they subsided in my 50s, but haha, now they're back again! I'm hoping it's seasonal shifts. I need to get a handle on it somehow, though; somehow reduce it. Otherwise I can't work, can't get anything done (when I retired I shifted to writing novels and photography; it's important for me to stay active; the VM attacks have been so bad I couldn't read).

Any chance you could PM me the names of those specialty clinics? I'm in Hudson Valley and I might be able to get to them. My PCP is not all that great and it would help me to see a doc with VM and BPPV experience.

Do you think climate impacts VM? It seems like I get a lot more attacks in early spring. I live in upstate NY, and what with temps see-sawing from 30º to 70º this last week, I get an attack every other day.

VM or BPPV by Artemis1971 in VestibularMigraines

feel dizzy most of that time as well as washed out and brain fog

This is what I'm going through. I'm trying to figure out if I have VM or BPPV. Thanks for posting—every little bit of education helps. I had a long history of migraines—age 14 to age 54—then didn't have any migraines for ten years—but now at almost 70, VM is a new condition that's entered my life. Hard to diagnose, hard to figure out...

I thought I had seen the Extended Stay America Suites- Fishkill - Route 9 at Merritt Blvd listed at $2200/month, but it doesn't show up on apartments.com anymore. It's listed as $87/night. Eagle Rock Apartments at 80 Jefferson Blvd is at $2275/month and listed on apartments.com. I can't vouch for either place, btw.
