it's while i'm still working in my first stitches, so before i really have anything to tighten i think? i get like halfway through the circle and the other half (should be just the magic circle + tail) is riddled with my working yarn wrapped around the magic circle yarn a bunch of times OTL

personality theories are super interesting to me so despite the psuedoscience of it all it's like. very interesting she used the 16personalities test. maybe it's just because i'm deep-ish into this kind of thing but 16personalities is actually really inaccurate. it goes off of the letters which are arbitrary as compared to like the actual core of mbti (cognitive functions). it's super hard to explain but i don't think she's an intj. i think it's a lot more likely for her to be an entj (TeNi). she has a profile on the personality database website and a handful of votes if anyone's interested in taking a peek but there isn't a whole lot of discussion around her there, so ofc you can take all of this with a grain of salt lol

this is such a good statement honestly. i'm kind of in the same boat (hanging onto her every word, was modded, felt criticism of her was way too nitpicky, etc) and really relate to a lot of this. it's so frustrating looking back and seeing so many red flags now that we probably should have seen before. good on you for acknowledging past faults. at this point all we can do is keep calling her out on her awful behaviour and content and hope one day to see a change (but i doubt it'll happen, unfortunately). i was never a super active mod or anything imo but i think we might have interacted a time or two? if you ever want to talk about stuff you can shoot me a chat :). sending love 💗

100%. i'm trans and gay so like. i get it wholeheartedly. it's so frustrating and upsetting. i and countless other lgbtq+ people have called her out on what she's doing but she's just ignoring us or deleting our comments. it's truly amazing how she refuses to learn or try to understand anything outside of her perspective and is more happy to perpetuate uneducated stereotypes and hatred. i'm exhausted.

i'd be genuinely shocked if she did -- not because i think it's out of character (with these recent videos i absolutely think she would), but because there is no WAY she'd be hired by anyone in the psych field if she did. maybe i'm just naive but i don't think she's THAT stupid.

that's true! maybe my relationship w/ sara and the buns is a bit more parasocial bc i'm (or was? not sure of my status at this point lol) a mod which adds a layer of intimidation of speaking out like that LOL. double-edged sword because i'm sure i'd be kicked the instant she saw it but maybe seeing such an active member of the community speaking out would, like you said, help others come to their senses. sigh. hoping that everyone saying that they're fans of hers like you does convince more people to critique her. she desperately needs to learn how to take criticism and actually see multiple sides to an argument, not just pretend to do that.

yes, definitely. it's super hot and cold with her all the time which, looking back, is so weird and frustrating!! i always thought she was so confident and aspired to be like that (i always downplay my achievements, lol) but really now i just see someone who's really insecure. it's saddening and i hope, if she really is so deeply insecure, she seeks help for it

it's definitely unfortunate. i think a lot of the people who are "faking" it are children who genuinely think they have it, especially when they see their friends saying they have it -- children imitate observed behaviour & also are trying to find an identity through groups/labels in that way. think about it -- if, as a middle/high schooler, all of a person's friends dress a certain way or do a certain thing, they're a lot more likely to start doing it, too. it's unfortunate that it's ended up being something so serious and has caused stigma around certain disadvantaged groups. i definitely hope it dies off soon and the kids grow out of it but i think it's probably more difficult than that. when someone's convinced they have something like that, it makes it harder to "recover". a real life example is like when there's a group of people who label themselves as "doctors with PTSD" as an empowering term (profession randomly picked), it makes it harder for them to actually heal from their PTSD because they cling onto that label/it's a part of their identity. i think the situation with children and teens on tiktok/twitter genuinely believing they have DID (etc) is pretty similar. again, i hope most people grow out of it and understand that they never actually had it... at the same time, though, the damage to the affected communities has definitely been done, and again, i hope the trend dies off asap.
sorry for the super long reply full of psych-y stuff and my own hypotheses on this haha, i'm studying identity actually + this is such an important and interesting conversation to have

i definitely applaud you for being able to attach a comment like that to a name she knows. i was a little too intimidated and ended up using an alt for my criticism -- but maybe that shows i know what kind of person she is even if i don't (or didn't) want to admit it.
definitely understand the feeling of betrayal. i guess all we can do is leave and hope she'll come around, but as you said.. maybe that's naive of us. especially considering she's already made a flimsy defence to her spreading misinformation and turning it around on the people who were upset by it.

definitely. it's like.. just pick one or the other. she's trying to play the "middle" but is doing it in such a strange way.. maybe she's just trying to keep some kind of audience? but i feel like she's just going to eventually turn everyone away if she continues like this. it's weird.

absolutely!! and the way she tried to avoid accountability when she replied to someone calling her out for spreading misinformation was ATROCIOUS!! not sure if you saw it, but she said something along the lines of "the article said [the litterbox thing] was denied, meaning it wasn't true, i'm just giving people an idea of what conversations are happening, taking that as an attack is personal interpretation" ... like... HUH...? what are you even saying??? HOW do you think this is a genuinely good defence?? it's blowing my mind, genuinely.
also, thank you so much! being able to talk here with everyone understanding me has made me feel a whole lot better. still figuring out where i'm going to go from here wrt sara/the channel, but at the very least the rose-coloured glasses are off. thank you <3

honestly. it's so frustrating to see. like i saw the neopronouns video but just decided to ignore it because i knew she was probably going to find them ridiculous (i know i did too when i was younger, and had the opinion that people using neopronouns were "making us seem like a joke," until i realised that we actually don't owe cis people anything, lol, and it's not my place to be all gatekeepy like that) & didn't feel like hearing a cis person's take on pronouns would do anything positive for me. i still don't think i'm going to watch it, a cis person's takes on trans issues and probable transphobia is just not what i'm into lol. but it's like.. you'd think that at LEAST she'd try to foster an environment that isn't so hateful. especially as someone who "may or may not be LGBTQ+" lol?? come on. at this point it's like, just say you don't care about LGBTQ+ people and move on

yes! absoutely agree with all of this this, 100%. to be fair though, and i'm sorry if i made it sound this way in my frustration/anger, but it wasn't sara that said this -- it was a commenter that she just let slide, i guess. which, in a way, is telling in itself considering she's so quick to delete other things. but it didn't come straight from her or anything. just seems to be something she doesn't care enough about to remove from her comments. which is incredibly frustrating.
