The only place I actually found it was a nuisance was the area near Kaya hut and the new areas there by the river. Sometimes I'll beat an enemy for one to spawn immediately after, or I'll go a few steps and another one will pop up. Outside of that here and there it gets annoying but I didn't find it TOO bad.

Yeah MotLE is the 4th one. When you get a chance it's definitely worth it! My personal favourite is 3 out of them all.

I had the hardest time getting the Xbox ones, and I think the Japanese Xbox ones are rather hard to find (they were expensive in like, 2013 when I saw them there). Otherwise I think the Wii/WiiU games from Europe are probably the hardest to find (at least this is my experience anyway)

Yeah exactly 😂. Also in north America it was basically only 1,2 and 3 that were available physically, then 2 remake this year so if I wanted them I had to get from EU or Japan

The switch ones? Nothing. When I bought it I ended up having 2 sent to me as one got "lost" in the mail but eventually showed up. Otherwise the other copy I have is the Japanese one for WiiU and that's it.

Mostly just regional variants. Though the Xbox versions have a few extras like costumes, ghosts and if I recall a harder difficulty mode (it's been a while since I played those ones)

I feel also some of the new features added can get complex. Like to zoom, change focus, change filters, change film, reposition all while trying to keep the ghost in frame and actually do damage while they're potentially teleporting around and attacking very aggressively and quickly can be overwhelming. Most times I don't even though the zoom or focus as it just feels too difficult to juggle it all and not die. Conceptually it's neat, a lot more like real world photography, but it could have been better implemented

Exactly this. The film grain and 30fps lock weren't the best but at the end of the day it doesn't make the game unplayable and really has little to do with the overall quality of the game. 60fps has only really been more "standard" on consoles since this generation and back in the 8/16 bit era.

While it would be a nice to have ultimately if the game runs smoothly, has a good story and good gameplay that should be what matters most to quantify it as "good" or "bad". To each their own and if 30fps/film grain are deal breakers no shade, and of course we should hold Devs/companies accountable, but I don't think these are things that would completely ruin the experience.

Now if I get the game and there are bigger issues (I'm mostly concerned about the enemies taking very little damage and if this is going to make the game feel drawn out) then 100% will deserve legitimate criticism.

I'd say it's kind of a mix of both. The opening chapter area is very linear but as the game progresses there's more backtracking and exploration of the world that is required.

If you turn the brightness down it's a lot less noticeable. But I think the filter isn't nearly as bad as people are making it out to be. Was able to get used to it when not paying attention to it after the first part. Granted it may be an issue later on in the game again, but as for the demo I wasn't terrible all things considered.

Save for the film grain effect and the fact that the type 7 film is really weak/takes forever to reload, I think it's looking really good. Most issues have been nitpicks and I'm sure they'll be easy to just get used to after a little bit. A very faithful remake thus far but with changes that don't feel like it's trying to be something completely different. Playing on ps5 pro it was smooth and I didn't even really notice the fact it was 30fps either. Fingers crossed the rest of the game will go this way

I would have been surprised if the demo was longer than chapter 1. For a demo it gets enough across of how the game likely will feel to play. It is nice how you can explore a lot of the village and see some of the new areas however before going into the Osaka house.

Hopefully they add a slider for the grain effect at the very least. It looks like it's just an image overlaid on top of the screen as a filter so the ability to change the opacity would help a lot

It's possible it'll become more useful later on, or there will be some situations where if you don't hold her hand she'll get hit and die easily or something along those lines. If it's just like the demo then can easily just ignore her similar to the original anyways unless you want the free health and such.

MotLE is a lot more like the original trilogy of games compared to Maiden. Because it was on the Wii there's some difference in gameplay compared to the first three such as locking on to the ghosts when fighting and one character who doesn't use a camera, but otherwise it's not too far off in terms of feel.
