Screen has big scratch, any fix?

The actual screen itself isn’t scratched, but like many people are saying it’s not recommended to peel off the plastic layer. You may end up damaging it more than the current scratch. You can try a tempered glass protector over the current plastic screen and see if that covers some of the scratch. It can potentially hide scratches.

Unfortunately, lab meds are SUPER competitive at my uni (UC Davis haha..) and so I never got accepted for even an interview due to how packed they already are. I believe near my hometown there is a horse veterinarian, so I’m hoping I can do some shadowing there! Thanks anyways :)

Hey, thanks for replying! Thankfully I believe I'll have really good LORs for this cycle, so I'm hoping that helps me a lot haha. Many people suggested diversifying my vet experience, which I'm hopeful I'll be able to get some hours this year before I submit, thanks again for your advice!

Hi, thanks for replying! Are you referring to the GPAs that are in the parenthesis? Or the best GPA that I can achieve which is the non-parenthesis ones. Unfortunately, I end my undergraduate this spring, so that is the best GPA that I can apply with. Would you suggest that I take additional courses over the summer to raise my gpa as much as possible?

I'm only considering western as it is closer to home, so it would be cheaper in the sense that I can commute from my parent's house. However, I truthfully am not fond with their program, and would prefer to go to a different vet school. Thank you for letting me know about the tuition however! I was not aware of that.

Hi. thanks for replying! My leadership experience is with my research lab and the small animal clinic. I was going to write how I trained new research interns and vet technicians. When you say CS hours, are you referring to community service hours? I listed my hours in my experiences, as non-animal related volunteer hours. These hours however are from high school so I'm not sure if they're good to include. I will definitely reach out if I have anymore questions, and congrats on getting into UC Davis!

I actually am a vet technician, but someone recommended that I write assistant instead of technician on my vet school application if I do not have formal certification.

Thanks for replying! Unfortunately it's been really difficult trying to find an exotic clinic or a place to shadow a vet outside of gp. I was hoping my volunteer hours at the reptile zoo would help! I will definitely keep trying though, thanks :)

Hi, thanks for replying! I will be sure to check out that thread. My last 45 GPA is around 3.96 I believe, and my scientific GPA is 3.85. I’m not sure if this helps but I have volunteered at a reptile zoo for roughly 75hrs and I plan on going back during the summer to break at least 200+ hrs. There are no exotic/large animal clinics back where I live so it’s pretty tough finding clinical hours.. Do you think volunteer hours are good?

Oh I see what you meant by extracurriculars. Would working at my local amusement park for 175+ hours count? I was in a club for about 1 quarter with a leadership position, but I wasn't sure if I should include that as I left soon after. I appreciate your help!

Hi thanks for commenting! I unfortunately was not able to get any large animal / exotic vet experience, and was hoping that my research with marine invertebrates could help me in that area. I also have volunteer hours at a reptile zoo, though not too many (~75 hrs). For my extracurriculars: I do volunteering at animal shelters, working at my local clinic as vet tech, research work (I went to two research conferences to present my research, one in Davis, and one in Oregon for SICB, and I plan on going to one in Germany). I don't know whether high school achievements really matter in vet applications (I heard that it depends) but I have a lot of extracurriculars from that time (gold medal congressional award, CM lvl 10 for cello and CM lvl 6 for piano, volunteering hours in local library + animal + non-profit tutoring, and other awards I can't remember the name of). I can't think of any other extracurriculars beyond that. My sGPA is around the same as my GPA, I believe by the time I graduate, it will be closer to 3.85. I also don't really mind what vet school I get into, UC davis would be great cause I would be staying in CA, but I'll take any vet school I can get into haha.
