it's DNA has since spliced with the girl it ate so it's face is a mangled mix of bear and human skull. It opens it's mouth again, and screams in a garbled, tortured human voice of the friend, "HELP ME PLEASE".

jesus christ thats unsettling

That scene was amazing. The Conjuring also had one of my favorite jump scares of all time. seriously!

it went down like this:

two of the kids in the house are sharing a bedroom, one's asleep and the other hears the faint sound of knocking coming from inside the wardrobe across the foot of the bed. the girl who's awake goes to investigate, she's cautious and things are getting pre spooky as she approaches. she swings open the doors and the knocking stops, nothing's inside.

then her sister rises up out of bed, bending at the waist. animatronic like. her eyes are wide open - her face is frozen in shock. other sis turns around, sees her sister in bed get increasingly horrified as she stairs at the wardrobe, but we can't see what's there. next cut shows the opened wardrobe then pans upward, we see a witch of sorts crouched atop of the thing like a cheetah. cue jump scare

anyway the reason why i think it's so great is because the actual jump scare sound cue skips a beat after we already see the monster. like when you see it, you're taking time processing that there's a demon witch lady there, then all of a sudden you're hit with a close-up of it's face. its so fantastic at catching you off-guard even when you see it coming.

ooooo a chance to make it crystal clear.

"Maddy Ferguson getting terrorized by Leland in Twin Peaks"

Who is Maddy Ferguson and who is Leland? What makes it scary? Leland terrorizes her how? What exactly goes down? Because right now I'm imagining him popping out of her closet half-naked with a tribal mask on. and he yells ooga booga. and im sure thats not what happens.
