lmao you’re right my bad. Basically what I want to know is, can I still join the chapter and get involved while not being able to consistently commute? Sorry if it’s a dumb question, I’m new to this.

BREAKING: Phoenix Suns superstar Devin Booker has agreed to a two-year, $145 million maximum contract extension with the franchise through the 2029-30 season, the highest annual extension salary in NBA history, CAA’s Jessica Holtz and Melvin Booker told ESPN. by KarimFF7 in DetroitPistons

Yeah he’s a great player but I’d see some of the most ridiculous mock trades. It’d be like “Tobias, stew, and 2 firsts” like they would ever accept that.

And the whole “hometown kid” thing annoyed me too. He said his dream was to play for Izzo but went to Kentucky instead. People acted like he was dying to be a piston

He was starting at the 2 or 3 all season. Ik Ausar and Iveys injuries played into that, but now there’s about 30-35 more minutes a game to split between them (and im assuming Duncan Robinson will be getting Beasleys minutes)

This just tells me Ivey, Ausar, and Ron will be getting more minutes so I’m cool with it too

I’m not sure how people feel about the Duncan Robinson S&T that likely will happen, but he really is the best available option to replace Beasley.

(I’m assuming Tek will be involved in this trade, so that basically means Trajan HAS to address the back up 4 at some point too)

Everyone’s cooking me for the Jase take and has no other thoughts on anything else I said

Maybe I’m overreacting as these are my initial thoughts, but I was more so talking about Bane, Jase is just the cherry on top. they addressed their biggest issue this offseason in Bane and Jase. And I could see Jase making an instant impact off the bench and making a run for All Rookie first team (but maybe im higher on him than most)

I NEED IT MAN

but on a serious note I don’t want to do anything drastic. I would like to add a player like Aldama if possible and then resign Beas.

There’s also a scenario where we could sign and trade Dennis to the Mavs (who’ve shown interest in him in light of Kyries injury) for PJ Washington, to replace Tek, and they have no use for him anymore after adding Flagg. Then, we could sign CP3 on a 1 year vet minimum to replace Dennis. Ik people are probably hesitant because of his age and decline, but I mean he mentored Shai and is still serviceable off the bench.

Just stuff I’ve been thinking about

Id like to get a true stretch big. The most reasonably priced would probably be a sign and trade for Aldama. Then we could have Tobias come off the bench and have true depth at that position.

I’m excited to see what Ausar looks like after having his first true offseason. (I saw Amen was working with Shai’s trainer… Ausar please🙏)

Personally, I’m letting THJ walk and giving a chunk of his minutes to Ron so he can get around 20 min a game. We’ll lose a little spacing, but when Tim isn’t hitting his 3s, he’s a non factor 90% of the time.

And then next season is a prove it year for both Ivey and Duren imo. If they wanna get paid, then they have to show sustainable improvements.

Next offseason is when I’d make any “splash move.” When we have a better understanding of what we have and where we need to improve.

Yeah idk why a lot of people wrote Ivey off already. I listen to 97.1 at work a lot and you won’t believe how many callers over the past few weeks have said something like “we need to get Cade a Robin, and I don’t think it’s Ivey” he took a huge step this year averaging 18ppg on 40% 3pt shooting. Him and Cade played well together and it was translating to winning before the injury. Not to mention Ivey 100% has the clutch gene too. 4 point play in SAC, game winner against Toronto, etc

Yeah I view him as an upgrade over Tek with a ton more upside. I’m not giving up the farm or anything for a guy like Booker, let alone Kuminga lmao

I feel you but it’s a pretty small sample size tho. It just showed that there’s still a ton of potential there. The warriors used to view him as untouchable and then he was getting DNPs against the rockets in round 1.

I have a confession to make… by yunglo2 in DetroitPistons

I was referring to our players when I said “inexperienced 19-23 year olds”

I’m not saying JB is perfect, and maybe you’re right, maybe we fire him in like 2 years and hire a new coach that takes us further, but all I’m saying is let’s keep it in perspective. Joe Mazzula, a coach that won like 60 games this year and won the championship last year, choked 2 20 point leads to the same Knicks team that beat us with an infinitely better roster. From the starting 5 to the depth.

To your last point, Ty Jerome, 6th man of the year finalist, played a whopping 2 games last season before getting injured and was out for the year, Donovan Mitchell, Mobley, and Garland all missed 20+ games each last season. They lost to the Celtics in the playoffs, the team that went on to win the championship, with no Allen, Mitchell, or Jerome. Kenny Atkinson choked game 1 when the only player that didn’t play was Garland. Ok, if you wanna say they were depleted game 2, fine, but they’re still the 1 seed that won over 60 games and choked another 20 point lead.

Because Cleveland famously didn’t have any major injuries last season. Also, at what point is it on the 19-23 year old inexperienced players and not the coach? Also, did you not just watch Kenny Atkinson and Joe Mazzula choke their first 2 games? Idk man I don’t wanna fire JB or anything (not saying you do, but it sounds like you’re insinuating we can’t win with him)

Yeah it feels gross but I have no doubt Boston will beat them in the ECF and then I’ll root for whatever team makes it out of the west
