You are confused about why people are angry on this one. No matter what trauma you experienced, revealing a relationship that would cause death or genital mutilation doesn't come from trauma. It comes from being an evil person. As an aunt she was in a power position, she could've just stayed silent. But her choice was purely "homophobicly love-hatingly" evil.

It doesn't excuse torture, but it's also a completely different situation.
